Tennessee "celebration" in 3rd quarter (merged with video link)

Watching the video, it was obviously not between quarters. Not that I mind at all though...

I know for a fact every one of these has been during the break between quarters or during a TV timeout when they aren't doing anything for 5-minutes on the field or after a TD when they have the long breaks before they kick the ball off. None of these have delayed any part of the game or caused interruptions.

This is a team motivation/attentiveness tactic that seems to be standard operating procedure for Kiffin. He did it at the end of the 3rd quarter against UCLA (we were behind). He also did it right before Auburn kicked off after they scored to go up 23-6.

We saw them leaving right after we held them twice in the third, the one sitting behind us shut up and just sat there the rest of the game!

I'm suprised we didn't get an excessive celebration penalty. Guess the refs are gunshy after the call on AJ Green last week.

I was wondering this too. Why didn't a flag come out? Because we were on the sidelines or did we take a timeout-to-celebrate? I wouldn't have cared if they threw a flag anyway. :dance2:

This is proof that the team hasn't "quit" and isn't "divided". Somebody send this vid to Hooker.

I see your point and of course Hookers a dufus but, you fnd out the true character of your team and their solidarity when they are losing and in a tough spot, not when theyre up by 20.

that was such an awesome moment. The crowd just kept getting louder and louder

I have been going to games for 25 yrs., and I have never been to a game where the pregame (Vol walk, Salute, and the pregame including Running through the "T"}that was that dead.

I know, the rain, start time, and state of the season had a lot to do with.

I turned to my brother, beofre the kickoff, and told him this team had to make something positive happen early.

It was on the players and coaches to get the crowd going. And they did, and then some.

Great job guys, What a freakin game.

yep. it's funny because this isn't the first time this has happened. people just tend to forget though because those games were losses. and also because the crowd wasn't as into it as much as they were yesterday.

it was still an awesome moment, though. i've been going to the games for about 14 or 15 years and i've never experienced anything like it. it was just a great experience

I was there. Even got a pic of the puppet in the rain jacket :)

I heard him the whole ballgame (the man, not the puppet) ...but I never turned that direction, except when the guy behind me hit me in the head. We both jumped at the same time apparently.

This was definitely a teary eyed, chicken skin moment for me. Could you imagine a similar outcome against bammer? Holy Cow!

I think back to last year when we saw laughter on the sidelines while being beaten.. and now see a unified group, jumping to Rocky Top while soundly beating a rival. Fantastic moment.

I'm still mad I missed th game due to work (well I didn't get to watch but I did listen on the radio... shhhhh don't tell my boss). What a sight though... last time I saw anything like that in Neyland I was at 2004 UT vs UF, you couldn't hear anything when we made that kick.
I was at that game in 2004 and yes it was loud. I was also at the UCLA game this year and when the team started doing that before the 4th quarter it got me pretty pumped as well. I used to be in the USMC and have seen alot, but I was at home and watching this game on tv and when they started doing that before the 4th quarter this time I got choked up, I was so happy for the team and myself as well, we are Vols and we expect dominance. It just felt so good this time. Like the weight of the world had just been lifted off our backs. SEC look out!
