Seriously, "we are Auburn" shouldn't be a source of pride. Your school is so pathetic you haven't won a national title since you were Alabama Polytechnic, or whatever. So pathetic that you went unbeaten twice since 1990 and didn't win a national title while playing in the best conference in the nation. The only reason anyone knows Auburn's location is because Bear Bryant mentioned you being across the state in his famous quote.

Whether you admit it or not, you and every other Auburn fan knows that you don't deserve the Outback Bowl. I scanned a couple of your boards, and it looks like you guys expected nothing close to the Outback until this morning. Suddenly, you jump everybody. The fact that your team is going is a complete joke. I just lost more respect for the Outback Bowl. That game is officially less meaningful than it was yesterday.

Just curious, but can anyone recall a time when a team with a losing record in conference played in a New Year's Day bowl? Is it the first time? If so, then Auburn is officially the least deserving team EVER of a New Year's Day bowl.

In 1 of the articles from 2005, it stated that Georgia's allotment was 1.7 million for the 14 mil for the Sugar Bowl, and would have been 1 million for the Chick Bowl, which only has a 2.4 million payout, at that time. There is going to be even less of a difference between Outback's 3.3 million and Chick's 3.0 mil. So, yes, I am technically wrong, but to me, the huge amounts of money they split up at the end of the year with the TV contracts and everything else, the maybe 100,000 difference is going to look like much.

Not worried or intimidated yet. However, this certainly won't help our recruiting either. If the national perception is that Tennessee fans don't care enough about their team to travel to see them, and causes us to drop into a third tier bowl, which is apparently what happened, then that's not going to look good to potential recruits.

Big Orange. Good Lord. Dont you get it. Chiz, just got to Auburn last yr. He was left with lazy Tubs recruits. We have no depth. We are lucky we won 7 games. Thats where recruiting comes in. Auburn is not Iowa ST. They cant recruit up there. Chiz was an AUsome defensive cord at Au. He will be AUsome at Auburn as a head coach, he has to have time. He has to clean up the ****e lazy Tubs left. BTW if you think Owens is leaving AU. Hes already made it clear to Auburn sites hes not leaving. The kid is not gonna be rude to schools like Tenn that want him. I mean dam

First of all, we weren't "bashing" your tigers. We were simply saying that they didn't not deserve the Outback bid, considering your end of the season losing streak and your losing conference record. The basing started when you came in bringing "nothing to the table" and being "childish" with your ignorant comments.

You're on a TENNESSEE website, so what did you expect?

You are right about the Outback taking Auburn. Supposedly (even though it is frowned upon) the Tigers made a financial guarantee to the bowl in exchange for the invitation.

In my eyes it's not going to be any worse from a national standpoint regardless of what happens from here on out. Whether we end up in the Chicken Bowl, Music City, or Liberty or wherever, all the non New Years Bowls are equally worthless, nobody really cares about them. It's a shame for our team, seniors and EB especially that they put in all that hard work, and then this happens because of some "guaranteed ticket sales" nonsense.
