If this happens, it will mean that the SEC west gets----

Sugar----Cotton-----Citrus----and Outback. The top 4 SEC bowls. Ain't right.

oh that's bull.

all that committee cares about is making money and that's it, regardless of school attended. they would have done this whether UT was coached by someone like lane kiffin or another coach who spent his free time spit shining meyer's shoes

as much as I like "Go SEC" sentiment, I was hoping South Carolina and UGA would have lost last week to Clemson and Ga Tech to make this bowl picture a bit more clear....and prevent less of a possible free fall

Look, the travesty of Auburn getting the Outback is not that we didn't get it, its that they will get a better bowl bid than 3 teams they lost to (Ga, KY, Arky) despite having similar or worse records. They finished 5th in the sec west, 10th overall in the sec, ended the year on a blazing 2-5 streak, and are playing on New Years day. Its absolutely stupid.

The thing is that Auburn and UT will bring in about the same amount of money to the Outback Bowl. With that being the case, you have to look further than that for an explanation of placing a team with a losing conference record in a NEW YEARS DAY BOWL.

Why would these folks want CLK recruiting the state of Florida on their dime? They were ticked about the billboards in Florida. They are ticked when he accused Urban Meyer of cheating. They generally hate UT. It is a stated fact that they SEC office is working with the Cotton, Outback, and Chikfila to determine teams 3 - 5. Slive hates CLK as well. Sounds like a little pay back!

I absolutely agree. Same things I have been saying. The only reason Auburn finished higher in the West than Miss. St. is because they won the head to head. Both finished with 3-5 SEC records. Auburn going to the Outback is crazy!

Guys, I am hoping we do get selected above these teams, but I am not some sort of blind homer that thinks we had an amazing season and deserve the Cotton or Outback. We had 8 home games. We played 0 ranked teams at home and went 6-2 in Neyland. We only have 7 wins. This is as easy a schedule as Tennessee will see and we won 7.

Not sure how many years its been, but its been along time since any team has played the #1 team on the road TWICE in the same season. Some easy non-conference games, but Ohio is playing for the MAC Championship.

Sagarin has the Vols listed as having the 25th ranked SOS.

Looks guys Au and Chiz bashing wont do a bit of good. We are going up not down. Chiz is staying at Auburn and if I were your coaches, I would be sitting in top recruits homes this like my man Chiz is. There is a reason outback picked us. See we are Auburn and always will be. You are just Tennessee

THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY. And even more than that, GUARANTEED money.

There's alot of word too that we've been traveling poorly to the last few bowl games too. One way or another Auburn not only offers some matchup variability from 2 of the last 3 years, but also as alot of things are pointing, more guaranteed money.

These guys have to run a non-biased job in selection; if they pick based off of a team they don't like the coach, they can lose their jobs. They're all professionals, give them freakin some credit.

there's no UT conspiracy. unfortunately the way it all played out has left it open to the bowls to take whoever they want, no strings attached since of so many 7-5 teams

I usually thoroughly root for the SEC to win every bowl game, but this year, I hope they go 9-1. I hope Auburn gets humiliated by Wisconsin.

imo:

1) Georgia Dome is much better than Raymond James.
2) Atlanta is better than Tampa.
3) VT or GT will be a better game than Wisconsin / NW
4) Primetime is better than 11 a.m.
5) We will have the fan majority
6) EB is happy, so he may play harder
