UT/Va Tech in the 1994 Gator Bowl...IN GAINSVILLE! I was there..Great game. Little Man was MVP!

As an FSU fan.....I hope for at UT/FSU game in Nashville....for personal reasons....but I hope UT does get a better bowl for the program. I really would like a FSU/ Carolina Music City Bowl. Visor Boy vs Noles!!!! That would be fun also!!!

UT should be happy for any bowl this year. Staff has done a great job this year with the players they have.

Guys calm down. We're all die hard Vols fans and we worry 4 a reason. We know how this crap works and we know they will try 2 get us if they can BUT I think we will be fine on this 1. The Outback cant take Auburn without the Cotton taking an SEC East team. And if somethin happened and they chose someone other than us we will fall no further than the Peach. I have no source or non of that stuff, just thinkin sensibly.

I was there as well. That was a great night. UF fans were actually classy. Stayed in Ocala, made a week of it. Fun times.

I can't believe the reactions over all of this. Who cares? The Outback Bowl, Peach Bowl, Music City, Liberty, etc. are all lower tier in my mind. It's BCS or bust these days. The only thing I would care about is the opponent and a rematch with Wisconsin is at the bottom of my list. I would rather see Chic-Filet, Music City, or Liberty first.

I would love to see the Vols play in the first Cotton Bowl at Jerry World, but the most important thing about this bowl game is to win it convincingly in my opinion -- regardless of where it is.

An 8-5 UT team coming off a bowl game blowout would send a message that the program as on its way back. A plodding victiory over a Big 11 team, or a loss, wouldn't generate the same, positive buzz.

We aren't playing for this game, we are playing for the future. Just my two cents, but that is my silver lining.

WAY off subject....but..

I went to the:
Bluebonnet Bowl (Majors 1st)
Garden St Bowl(Hancock game)
Liberty Bowl..88? vs minn.
Tampa vs PSU in 1994....left that game and drove home to Miami and went to FSU/Nebraska game...met my wife at this game!
Orlando vs BC in 93???
OSU in Orlando..96?
Tampa vs PSU a couple yrs ago...sucked!

Va Tech game was great and the best time of any bowl game I ever saw UT play in.

According to a source in the football scheduling office, Auburn did get a bid to the Outback. They supposedly were thought to be able to sell more tickets. I guess they think we are tired to going to Tampa.

They are probably right.

I want to go to Atlanta. Will be sad if we drop below that. Love the Georgia Dome for football.

May go to Nashville if we end up there as well. Have not been to a game at LP field yet.

Question-----Which bowl would Tennessee fans likely attend if the Outback and Chick-fil-a were to pass on the Vols?

Answer------Music City. The bowl would be assured of a Vol turnout---being in-state---even if the fans were P.O'd over the process

I believe that is what sneaky slimy Slive is working out.

Get ready for Nashville. :banghead2:

I never had an ill word to say to you. Don't know where you got that. I've said all along that this is ridiculous...not that you are. I suggest you go over what was said if you thought I was referring to you.

I figured that if Hubbs said it, it was probably correct. No where did I say you were wrong. I said that the situation is wrong. How a 7-5 team with a 3-5 conf record and losing 5 of 7 to end the season should get to a larger bowl game this UT team is beyond me. OBC for you...If hammy had any balls, he'd blackball the Outback from here on out. These guys are shadesters...
