Beating up on Wisconsin again would be boring imo. I'd rather see a ball game. Not a slaughter.

Who else is just happy that we are bowling this year??

If you'd have offered me Outback at the beginning of the year, I'd have asked where to sign.

Actually I think there may be more potential recruits in this class in relation to Tennessee in the Dallas area compared to Tampa.

Ahmad Dixon, Corey Nelson, Eddrick Lofton, Mike Davis, etc.

Agree with that completely. I would have said the Outback was impossible prior to the season.

It just sucks that the Big 10 is so bad yet again. I wish the SEC only had one bowl tie in with the Big 10, not 2.

the outback is almost turning into what the citrus bowl was for ut in the 90's. if we go there this year, our last 3 bowl trips will have been in tampa

Outback would be the best for recruiting. I think Tenn. is after a kid from Tampa, and a matchup vs the big 10 is better for the Vols' chances of a W. UT can deal with the conventional offenses; and 8-5 looks good for the progress of the program. If Oklahoma is the opponent in the Cotton, based on their talent, they will be a tough out---if motivated.

Still a nice, well-earned trip for this team. The 10:00 A.M. CDT kick-off on New Years Day:cool2::cool2::cool2: will have SOME of us rubbing our eyes and getting started with a little "hair of the dog", as they say.

Assuming LSU to Citrus and OM to Cotton, the Outback can pick from UTK, AU, UGA, SC. Arky or KY. All of those schools are within one conference loss of one another so all are equally eligible. It'll come down to which school the selection committee believes will bring the most revenue to their city and, to a lesser extent, what will be the best matchup for TV purposes.

Let's get rid of the "K"!!!

Out of these teams, who do we think will bring the $$$?

I want Ohio State or Penn State. Screw Northwestern....that is a no win game IMO. As in who cares if we win and devastating if we lose.

The phrase "New Year's Day Bowl" meant a lot more 15 years ago than it does today. When you have 7-5 teams playing on January 1 ....

Wisconsin is not as boring as everyone is making them out to be. I went to the Wisc/Mich State game in September. Clay is a great running back, and the QB has made strides.

To me, NYD Bowl, these days, means the J-1 games + the BCS games.

As for 7-5, that's just how it worked out this year. We're 2nd in the East.

Penn State would be nice but I doubt the Suckeyes are going to give up their Rose Bowl invite to go to the Outback.

For the program the Outback is the best deal. First, we will have our highlights on ESPN all day on New Year's Day. Second, it will be great for recruiting down there.

I am concerned about UGA trying to sneak in the back door and send us to the Peach Bowl. I do not trust the SEC office when it comes to bowl deals. Since Ole Miss has received confirmation of their game UT needs to be notified today also.
