Tennessee best team in SEC East?

I have no idea why everyone automatically goes Uga over Tennessee next year....Tennessee's worst game last year was Georgias best...wont happen again unless they moved the game to Athens

who cares if we are "favored"....IT IS OK TO BE THE UNDERDOG....probably the best thing that could happen to a young team to keep that chip on da shoulder

I think at best you could say we are the biggest wild card of the east. JJ is up in the air and Bray and Hunter did the opposite of inspire confidence in the spring game. Which is just a spring game yes but also gave me no glimpse of East dominance.

I don't blame you. Football passion is unmatched in the south. Those other folks don't even know.

You're right. Most people outside the south really have no idea what football means here.

I won't be confident until we beat a team with a winning record.

by your logic, if Cincinatti beats Austin Peay in week one, then we beat Cincy, you can be confident. Guess you're gonna be confident early on in the season, which is what we need.

Seriously I just feel good about this season and about our program under Dooley. I feel like there is no way he doesn't take us back to the top.

Look at last year....We beat lsu in 60 min and got killed by ga.It can happen.

I have no doubt that it CAN happen, but to predict a loss to UGA and then predict a win over LSU is confusing to me JMHO...

In all seriousness guys why not. Sure we are still very young and we have a bunch of tough games this year, but show me a team in the East that is Head and Shoulders better than us right now?

I think this will be Richts Swan Song in Athens this year. He has become the new Fulmer of the SEC. Getting Less out of more and I've seen nothing lately to make me think that Georgia will be nothing more than a Seven, Eight win team again this year.

Florida does have as much talent as, Bama, and LSU but they are completly changing their offense and you can't tell me they won't have a lot of growing pains this year. Weiss is good but to think that he can make his scheme gel the first year is giving him much more crdit than he deserves.

South Carolina has plenty of experience returning but did anyone else watch the Arkansas and SEC Championship games last year. They were thumped. Hell those games were never really close. Sure they had some great wins, but Steve has mediocre at best since he's been in Columbia. Plus Garcia he one fart in a elevator away from being kicked off the team.

If we were in the West this year then no I wouldn't give us much chance at all to get to Atlanta but there isnt any reason at all not to believe that an 9-3 or even and 8-4 team will win the East this year. We will need a little luck, but if Bray doesn't regress, and the Oline continues to improve we could be in Atlanta this Dec just as easy as Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina can.

We have to go to the swamp and that will be tough but, I dont think their Offense will be clicking that early so why cant we win in Gainsville.

We get Georgia and South Carolina at home and barring a lot injuries there is no reason to believe that we can't win those games.

The East will be Dog eat Dog again this year and I dont see any reason why we cant be the last Dog standing come Dec. Not saying we will but I wont be shocked if we do.

Dooley showed me last year that he can do good things with very little, so I believe he can make this team take the next step this year, then 2012 might be the year were the sky is the limit for our Vols.

Great post!!!

Not confusing. On any given Saturday a number of factors can spell a win. Opponent injuries, suspensions, illness, and even a lower rated team just flat out-playing a higher rated one. Memphis State Vs. UT for example. Boise State vs. UO and later Oregon, 1986 UT-UMiami, and you can go and on. On any given Saturday, any team can get their booty whipped due to tangibles and intangibles of all kinds.

I graduated from etsu and my sister just graduated today, but I hope that individual is dead wrong.

I figured a few people may say that. :)

But congratulations to your sister on graduating. That's quite an accomplishment, and I remember how excited I was when I graduated. But I didn't go to ETSU, I just happen to be a supporter of sorts. :)

My brother is a freshman at ETSU and my best friend from high school graduated from there, and I also hope that individual is dead wrong. Although I guess USC being the favorite is better than it being Florida or Georgia. Also, congrats to your sister.
