The league-leading Alabama offense scored multiple runs in three innings behind seven strong innings from starting pitcher Adam Scott to earn an 8-4 victory over Tennessee on Sunday afternoon and three-game sweep of the Southeastern conference series at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

if there was any doubt left hanging...this last series pretty much makes it official. WE SUCK! Are we that devoid of talent or is the staff just not getting it done? I don't follow the games except to look at the scores and standings, so I don't know what the problem is. Anyone following this closely?

yes I have gone to every series.. the pitching is not the problem, opposing teams do not have better pitching ..they have consistent hitting. We suck at the plate.when our power hitters go 0-12 or 1 -13 in a series, making the other teams pitching look like they are doing something.. when in fact they are no better.. just making their era look better .. our top 6 batters look like 3rd graders up there. Its pathetic..who is the batting coach? that dude needs remediation...or find a new job.

We are not devoid of talent. Kentrail Davis, Hernandez, Thurber, Both of the Codys, Wiltz, Horne and Forsythe could all start for any team in the SEC. I attended every game and stayed for every gut wrenching inning of those 3 games and the reason we lost was not because of talent but a combination of a number of managerial issues.

Everyone in the SEC is aware the bammers can put up runs and have decent starting pitching but their bullpen is atrocious. Coach Raleigh had a decent strategy when having every batter take the first 2 pitches no matter what to hopefully have the starters rack up pitches. The problem became that Wells and his pitchers noticed this so they began to just tossing BP pitches to take a 0-2 count against just about every Vol. Raleigh never, in the 3 games, strayed from this strategy and we made the mediocre UA pitching staff look like the mid 90's Atlanta Braves and we only saw 2 of their relievers in 3 games!!! Raleigh also took entirely to long to pull Tullo in game one and by the time he did we where 6 runs down and sitting in 7th we also didn't have a hit until the 6th inning. In game 2 the script played just like game 1 until we had a ray of hope in Wiltz as he came in and sat down 2 and pitched 16 and was yanked wayyyyyyyyyyyy to early. Game 3 followed suit of the previous 2 as we started Morgado and he got hit around a good bit and our bats were silent until late when Lockwood went yard.

All in all this was an awful weekend and it's even worse for me because I have to go to school here at UA and hear it from all of these Sabanites.

And I say that as a baseball coach and person who knows the game.

Cody Brown, Cody Grisham, Tyler Horne, and Charley Thurber WOULD NOT start on other SEC teams. Hitting below .270 simply doesn't cut it in college baseball...it's rather sad to hit for that type of average. That's why we're 1-11 in the SEC. Too many guys hitting below .270

Had nothing to do with hanging pitchers out to dry or having the guys in horrible position to make plays, huh?:wink2: I like Coach Raleigh and believe he needs more time but you can't blame the talent on the field for all of this. Raleigh is to blame but he still needs our support.

I'll put my name in too. Being a student I have ties to the university. I'm sure I could luck up and win one SEC game out of ten or more.
