If chaos happens and both TCU orUSC take an L next week, the right thing to do is give that 4th spot to Tennessee. Same record. Neither are conference champs. Tennessee has a better quality wins. Who is Alabamas best win? 8-4 Ole Miss? Lmao. Oh and Tennessee beat Bama head to freaking head. Tennessee better be number 5 come Tuesday. Bama Bias better not screw us if the opportunity occurs. Get your pitch forks ready just in case Nation.

Bama v UGA would be an epic beatdown. Might not be the worst thing for UT. I agree it’s garbage but the playoff committee bends the rules and precedents nonstop.

Aaah but the CFP committee mob is a fickle bunch! You just never know where their head is. We'd better get some of Pruitt's paper sack money ready, just in case!

If Bama had one quality win, I’d get why they’d be ranked ahead of us. But they don’t!! We beat them and blew out the SEC west champs. It should be a no brainer. But Hooker being injured will be what will screw us.

Idk do they maybe still put TCU ahead of Bama and TN?

I will riot if they put Bama ahead of us though

No room for logic inside the committee. They will try to sell us on the fact that Ohio States only loss was to now the #2 team in the nation and that Bama is a “much better” team now. Plus we’re Tennessee, they screw us every chance they get.

This.

One bad loss should not negate what we’ve accomplished against the toughest schedule in the country.
But you sub Milton for Hooker and we aren't close to the same team. Today's result isn't due to our qb play. Bama has Young and we do have one really bad loss.

Alabama got the nod ahead of TCU in week 1 of the college football playoff rankings for no logical reason based on, to that point in the season, their performance on the field. There's no logical reason why they wouldn't jump over us but they probably will.

I know they'll put Tennessee behind Bama, I think Tennessee has the better argument to be ahead.
Tennessee vs Alabama
Head to head: Tennessee: 52-49
Common opponents:
Tennessee @ LSU W 40 -13
Alabama @ LSU L 31-32
Tennessee @ Vanderbilt W 56-0
Vanderbilt @ Alabama W 55-3
Tennessee Losses:
UGA 12-0
SC 8-4
Alabama Losses
Tennessee 10-2
LSU 9-3

Very compelling argument. I think the one thing we can’t account for empirically is the loss of Hooker. That is a net loss for our “ranking”

Unless TCU loses and is dominated, they’re in. USC is probably out with a loss but I’m not sure who sneaks in. OSU is sitting there with the better record but they got dominated at home. We beat Bama head to head and beat the other team they lost to (and on the road) but got dominated by SC and lost our Heisman finalist qb. Losing Hooker keeps us out in my opinion.

TCU is out with a loss regardless if it’s close or a blowout.

We will be 7. Ohio St will stay in front of of us. We may make 5 after next week

Lol, you want to go down this route again? I’ll bet you money TCU is in regardless of what happens in the Big 12 Championship. LSU losing changed the entire landscape.

If you think the #3 team losing to a #10-12 ranked team is gonna keep them inside the top 4, you are admitting you have lived under a rock the last month. But I’ll entertain this…. How does the 3rd ranked team lose to the number 10-12 ranked team and manage to stay or drop just 1 spot in the rankings?

Without a bad loss, who takes their spot? It’s not gonna be a 1 loss Ohio state that lost by 3 yds at home. If they get jumped (and the consensus is, they won’t), it would have to be Bama with no bad losses.
I’d love for it to be us but we have 2 losses, one by 2 scores and the other being a beat down where we lost our qb . That’s a hard sell.

Nobody is saying this. They aren’t going to punish an undefeated team for losing a championship game to a team they’d already beaten. Think TCU is in.

#3 losing a game to a 3 loss team will 10000% drop them out of the top 4…. You literally can’t even come up with an scenario where they would stay at #3 or just drop 1 spot to #4 with a loss… especially when 2-3 teams behind them are idle… are you saying that even if they lose, they would stay ahead of the idle teams? I pray you aren’t gonna say yes. Because if you do, you might be on some substance
