You guys will bounce back against the Gamecocks next week. Looking forward to seeing a game in Neyland. One of those things I wanted to do before I died. I heard a lot this week how this was not as big of a rivalry to Tennessee as it was to Alabama and I think it showed on the field. Glad Bama won, but you will be back. Good luck against the Gamecocks, can't wait.

We played the same style of defense we used against CAL and UF....

"Let's let 'em score until they finally wear down, and then we'll have 'em...."

The best defense is a controlling offense. Our defense was on the field all day long from our lack of offense.
The Bama QB and their receivers also picked our D apart even when they were fresh early in the game. We had no answer for the Bama wideouts.

I mean, we're making a mediocre at best Bama offense look like the Patriots.Time for a shakeup among the coaches down in Knoxville, starting at the top. I'm just tired of seeing us get outprepared and sick of seeing our guys more interested in knocking someones head off, rather than tackle. They seem more concerned with trying to make Sportscenter, than making the SEC Championship. The players just aren't disciplined and the coaches don't seem to care.

I agree. If this was the first game somebody tuned into they would think Bama is a BCS #! and D J Hall is the front runner for the Heismen.

How in the name of thunder could anyone defend CPF after this teams's showing. I hate the idea that he will still be around if he just wins enough games. I dont wont him to just "win enough games", I want a competitive team, a team that at least contends for championships, and a team with some intestinal fortitude.

Right now, we dont have any of the above. Fire Fulmer, Chavis, Cutcliff, and the whole staff. I'll bet Randy Sanders is laught is a@# off. He has every right too!

From the opening kickoff, Tennessee looked like the poorly-coached team they are : On a kickoff, the first job of a receiving team's special unit is to see the kick executed, to be sure it won't be a squib or onside kick. Our guy today was completely turned around facing away from the Bama kicking team, and thereby failed to pick up the onside kick. He never saw what was coming.
Inexcusable on the part of a young collegiate football player.
In the last 3 minutes of the game, on the Tennessee 40, 4th down and 7, Fulmer sends in the punting unit.
Inexcusable on the part of a man who has spent his entire adult life, around 40 years, inside the Tennessee football program.
We will suffer at least 2-3 more losses this year because of a lack of coaching and a lack of desire to win by our head coach.
We will continue to fall to the Tide, the Gators, and most other SEC and other major programs with half an ounce of determination, as long as our overly-conservative head coach is still on the sidelines.

What's that old joke about sending the boy that had been abused to live with the Commodores because they never beat anyone. I guess the boy is moving in with Fulmer this afternoon.

Bottom line saban fired his team up at halftime. Our coach was busy stuffing his face with food. we played like a high school team on defense and we got took to school by a lesser alabama team period.

this is a complete embarresment! our team is too "stale".....we need to change to more conteparary ways. i am embarresed to wear my tenn shirt! CPF needs to change or get out of town!

i honestly don't know what to say. i just never expected fulmer to lose more badly than he did to alabama than he did that night in knoxville in 2002. this is just inexcusable. he ALWAYS has his team up to play the tide. for him to get beat like this should send a message to the rest of the SEC that something is definitely amiss in Big Orange Country
