So, I'm driving to my weekly golf league and tune it to 680 the fan here in Atlanta, and I'm pumped and feeling good, when these two knuckleheads start their college football talk. This is about the third time they have jumped all over Tennessee. Kincade makes the remark, Ok,guys third game of the season we have Florida and Tennessee and Belue starts laughing like a toddler does after his dad makes a funny face. Then, Belue goes on to say, I'm sorry to laugh, Tennessee fans but please don't get mad, but honestly Florida is going to trump Tennessee by a margin of 80 plus. These two go on just laughing and carrying on, kinda reminded me of a an espn orchestrated down on the Vols. So, my thing is, just what in the hell is it going to take to make everyone see that we are not just old Tennessee that will struggle to finish 5th in the east. I am seeing more and more everyday that Tennessee is going to struggle all year and it's just going to be one of those years where all of us fans start watching other stuff on Saturdays and take our focus off of this college football season. Sorry, guys, if I piss anyone off, and you can call me optimistic, or unrealistic, or any childish remark you want to make, I think Tennessee is really going to make a lot of jaws drop this year, I think we are going to shock the SEC and just have to shutup everybody. Now, I'm not saying we are National Title material, even though it would be super nice, again I'm not Lou Holtz who thinks the Irish are gonna go on a tear this year, haha, still can't quit laughing about him going off the deep end. All I'm saying is I expect a lot of teams to overlook us as they already are and we come out swinging and shock Espn and every other media outlet that continues to put us down.

What makes me mad is how it was a 33-13 type score and now that he makes Urbie mad its an 80 plus blowout. That is whats funny guys.

If you lived in Atlanta and didn't care about or follow Tennessee football at all, you'd expect Florida to frogstomp Tennessee this fall too. A crummy 5-7 team vs the national champions in one of the toughest places to play in the country? Jesus the Quarterback versus Jonathan Crompton? A mouthy new coach who made it personal by taking a shot at the other guy, who is not only maybe the best coach in the country, but who also enjoys running the score way up? and who has a well known vindictive streak?

There's no reason at all for anybody who just casually acquainted with what's been going on in Knoxville to expect anything other than an absolute beatdown.

Tennessee can shut those morons up by kicking some butt on the football field. Until then I couldn't give a flying rat's ass what they have to say about the Volunteers.

What people don't seem to get is that Meyer is already running it up on everybody as far as he can every week. As I always point out, he called a fake punt against Hawaii when they were up by 30 points. Meyer's already going all out all the time; it's not like he has another gear to go to just because he's mad.

Bottom line is ATL is a hotbed of highschool football talent and these guys talk more about UT than UGA or Tech. As painful as it is to listen to I think it still helps us in recruiting. And as far as a beatdown in Gainsville goes, no matter what the final score is the mighty Gators will know they have been in a dogfight at the end of the day.

Is this the radio station that gave us the Vanderbilt AD insider information concerning Bobby Johnson's firing and Fulmer's hiring after this season?

As long as we are competitive in that game I will be happy. I want us to bring the GA Bulldogs down to earth this year and work our way towards the Gators and Tide next year.

At first, it makes me mad too. I liked John Adams saying on ESPN that "someone would have to be out of their mind to think we'll even be competetive with Florida this year." But honestly, I hope everyone keeps thinking we're just going to lay down. We'll have the element of surprise if the other teams actually buy into it.
Plus, you've got to figure you're in Georgia. Of course they hate us. We beat them like 7 straight years. That's why we have so many haters. We've beat everyone's asses for a long time around here. Take it as a compliment.

After last year, why would anyone have any respect for us right now?

What else would you expect from a sports talk station in a rival market? Sports talk radio in general is a complete joke. It's basically Jerry Springer for sports fans. I'm happy to say I gave sports talk radio up in 2000 and haven't regretted it once. Those driving around me are also thankful.:p

Face facts, no casual observer who happened to watch Tennessee last year versus UCLA, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Wyoming, or USC is going to have very high expectations of this year's team.

This may be a reach, but if anything... I suspect Urban Meyer is more likely to get flustered and make mistakes if he is trying to run up the score more than usual.

It's definitely accurate to say he has no pity in regards to beating anyone as badly as possible... but he doesn't usually let it dictate his playcalling, outside of continuing to throw late in the game.

I think if Tennessee is somehow ahead at any point near or after halftime, Urban's head might explode.

Well no, of course not. Everybody would have expected UF to slaughter us even if Kiffin had never opened his mouth. What I don't really understand is why everyone goes, "Oho! Meyer's gonna be pissed! Now Florida's REALLY gonna kill em!!" as though Meyer isn't already trying his best to run it up anyway.

I mean, UF scored an extra rub-it-in-your-face touchdown at the last minute in Gainesville two years ago, and Phil never did anything but pucker up for the guy.

I'll be so glad when the season starts, and these stupid "WAHHHH THEY TALKED BAD ABOUT UT" threads might end...at least for a while.

I'm just wondering how many players will get kicked out of the game before it even starts. I can see the confident Gators talking trash to our guys. They will let it go a little bit but somebody will take it to heart and then the rumble happens. It might be during warm up. This is a tight team we have this year and they arent going to take Gators talking trash on game day, they will take up for each other and take up for the coaching staff.

I really am nervous of us going down there and losing something like 56-7, but the reason these goones are saying this is bc they are annoyed UGA has lost 3 of the last 5 to a sinking ship Vols program, and the humiliation they received in jxnville might feel a bit better if we lose by more. Its very insecure, which perfectly describes the entire dawg nation....

If ESPN hated us, VolNation wouldn't be connected with ESPN.

Maybe that is ESPN's Master plan!!!!:eek:hmy:

This is BRILLIANT.

$50 says the Erin Andrews video will soon be linked to being made by Lane Kiffin. Eventually they'll say that he made it and uploaded it online, just so he can say Meyer cheated to get recruits by sending the video to the prep stars as a "sneak peek".
I swear that network is full of slimy snakes...
[/cliche rant against ESPN]

Offhand, I would say beating a depleted UGA in Knoxville and hitting Florida right in the mouth. Even if the Gates dominate the way everyone says, I suspect we will make them bleed for it.

Play til the whistle blows!

This is great for a gambling man. The line gets skewed out of wack....free money.
