I truly believe we have potiential for a elite 8 squad. Everything clicks and we will be good to go. We just can't afford to get off to slow start in the beginning of the season. We have some athletes now to run.

No Michigan? Seriously? They must be thinking Robinson, McGary, Hardaway, and Burke all go pro.

EDIT: Actually reading the intro helps, :loco:

Maymon - Stokes - Hubbs - McRae - Golden

That is surely an Elite 8 squad if we can get some consistency from them eps. Golden!

There's obviously lots of questions remaining...will Maymon come back, if so will he be 100%? Will McRae and/or Stokes return? Will golden show consistency or is he gonna dissapear and probably cost us a couple games? Will Hubbs be ready to contribute from day 1? Will Thompson be ready enough to fill in for trae if he dissapears?

The talent is definitely there to be a top 20 team all year, and to make the dance easily and be playing for seeding come February. I'm hoping that everyone returns and Maymon comes back close to 100%, seems as Tennessee fans we never get the team we are expecting to see.

Definitely excited though, could be an interesting next 2 weeks seeing how the roster shakes out.

Looking at how hard the final four teams played, especially the championship game, I have not seen this kind of intensity out of our VOLS in a while. Hopefully this will change.

Sweet 16 with just the starting 5 talent a good 7 to 8 man rotation we could do more.

Elite 8? Sure the potential is there for a good team, but we have been to the elite 8 once in our history. We havent even been to the dance the last two years and we are setting the bar at elite 8. Ca down let the next couple of weeks play out. Then lets see what the offseason is like for maymon. If everything works out perfectly we could be a top 25 team. I hope everything does and we go back dancing, but I cant say this team is elite 8 material yet.

While I do agree with this, our Vols tend to play to the level of their competition. That goes both ways. I don't think either of the those teams would have blown us out.

If Maymon and McRae come back, it is an Elite 8 talent level team.

We have only been to one, yes, but that doesn't matter. That Elite 8 team was not the best Tennessee (or even Bruce Pearl) had.

Didn't make the tournament the last two years? Doesn't matter either. Still doesn't mean it was a disappointment or underachievement or however you want to look at it.

Not sure we could get the ball up the floor against Louisville.

If Gorgui and/or Smith stay, Louisville definitely has a chance to repeat. Not sure why Gorgui would stay. Smith has some things he could work on.

You got that right, the comparison looks like college vs. high school, except for Josh, Chavious, and maybe Yemi. Those guys give 100% effort, 100% of the time.

We can be real good next year. I hope our guys were watching the hustle that Lville showed under the boards last night. Not sure why some fouls weren't called (oh yeah, SEC refs!) but they had some put-back points where they literally grabbed the ball away from Michigan! UT men & women should both be awesome next year!

Just a question but could anybody see Richardson starting over golden? Golden seems to be better off the bench and Richardson is by far our best perimeter defender.

It's still too early to predict if Tennessee will be in the field of 68 at the end of next season. Even if all players return and all players live up to expectations, they're still going to have to win more than 20 games. That's never an easy thing to do in the SEC.

Because we are returning kids that havent made the big dance two years in a row? I like how short vol nations memory is. WE LOST TO MERCER IN THE NIT FIRST ROUND. I guess that guarantees sweet 16. We should probably just focus on making the tournament first. Martin hasnt done that yet remember?
