Tennessee and Georgia fans may be mortal enemies...PETA (merged)

I'm a bulldog owner, and it broke my heart to hear that UGA VII had died, but come on PETA? That's just silly. These dogs are pampered and treated like royalty. I'm sure that UGA VII loved every moment of being on the sidelines.

I wouldn't be suprised though if this opens the doors for PETA to want all live mascots replaced. There is no way that we'd let anything happen to Smokey.

That's... well that's just retarded. That's probably the most retarded thing I'll hear today and I've been on the UK message boards...

I have never agreed with PETA on anything, and I don't think Uga should be replaced with a robot, but they are factually correct about bulldogs in general, and Uga's lineage in particular.

I suppose Smokey should be an animatronic robot too huh?

Yes! With lazer eyes and rockets and a supersonic bark that stuns the enemy so he can more easily go in for the kill.

Maybe PETA and the Greenies will go to war and kill each other off. There is always hope.

You're right, bulldogs are heat sensitive and have breathing issues. Constant inbreeding only makes these things worse, but 1 UGA out of 7 dying early shouldn't freak PETA out. I think they just use any oppertunity possible to push their cause.

I'd be down with that. The cheerleaders could cruise around on his back. And we'd finally be able to stop the evil Dr. Wily!

I really don't like PETA, however, they may have a point here. Forcing anything, man or beast, to watch Georgia football this season could be considered unethical.

I have an English bulldog. He is 11 years old. I know the challenges that they face and heat is tough on them, but I've watched the Georgia handlers and they really take good care of Uga.
As for PETA people, well, what can you say? There are just some people who are not net positive contributors to society, but they sincerely try. I wish we could put our best and brightest on finding them another cause to occupy thier time.

I'm surprised Smokey didn't croak last year...

The only use for PETA is when the do nude female protests. This is a ridiculous idea and does nothing to promote the ethical treatment of animals. 99% of their antics don't. It is sad that such an issue is represented by these idiots.

Yeah, I don't know what the problem is. If God didn't want us to eat animals, He wouldn't have made them out of meat. :dunno:

I was sad to hear about UGA dying at only 4 years old. Most bulldogs live to be about 7-10 years. I have an English bulldog that is going on 15. He's in perfect health, which is amazing. He still runs around and fights with me on a daily basis. They are great dogs.

I think PETA is among the most dangerous organizations in the country. They appear to be a slightly annoying and bumbling organization, but the amount of star power they have can cause trouble when put to use.

If PETA had their way, we'd all be a bunch of vegans that made life choices based on what is best for the animals over what is best for us. These guys give me spinal shivers for some reason.
