I think you & gays (could be the same) somehow think that you all have an inflated sense of importance. Religious or not there has to be some sort of values & standards that affect public policy. Are you dumb enough to think everyone will be happy no matter what you do?
Someone rlse may have already said this but, if a woman has a right to choose what to do with her body, why doesn't the person she's is having killed? What about their right to choose?
Many believe that's not a person. The truth of the matter is that abortion is just a symptom or expression of our throw away, take no responsibility society.
1857 Dred Scott vs Sandford. The U.S. legalized slavery nationwide.
1973 Roe vs Wade/Doe vs Bolton. The U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion nationwide.
I include this information only for those who are still in 5th grade, and have not yet gotten to the history portion of the curriculum.
Personally I'm not gonna lose sleep either way as far as the marriage issue goes. Government should just get out of it altogether. Are they gonna pander to the single person next though? As for rights I guess forcing the issue on people who's beliefs it violates would be one. Preach tolerance but don't practice it. Why does a gay couple take offense to a Christian baker not baking them a cake or someone not printing them gay pride T shirts? Kinda hypocritical huh? Why do atheist groups take offense to people praying at public venues? Are they forced to participate?...
A women has a right to choose what happens to her body as far as I'm concerned. If you make abortion illegal or extremely difficult, women that don't want babies will find other ways to abort the fetus ('back alley' abortions are horrid as we all know) or there will be many many people having unwanted babies that become a burden to the state and have a miserable existence.
