Was hoping for a bigger opening line. I know lines are just set to entice bettors, but that’s not a huge line considering we’re probably getting 5 for home, Gameday, Checkered, etc.

Nothing about the past will affect this game unless it gets into the heads of the coaches and players. I dont think Heupel cares about any of the ineptitude that the Vols have had in past years. He seems to be a progressive coach who exploits weaknesses. Florida is coming against a new regime that does not have the baggage of the 4 previous coaches. Anything can happen, but I feel Tennessee has the staff that can approach this game and not be emotional about it, swipe and clear!!!

We have lost to a lot worse gator teams. Napier will have that team hyped up. Both coaches are coaching for their jobs. Neither will get fired, but lose and you are a nobody in the SEC for yet another year. Florida is underdog they don’t have the pressure on them. We do.

Is 5 for home a thing?

I always heard 3 points was the norm for a team who could pack a stadium and actually have a home field advantage due to fans voices causing communication issues etc...that only matters in where the line starts tho, after that the line moves according to where bets are laid in attempt by vegas to get same amount of $ laid on both teams and minimize their risk of losing $....

OK with underdog in our own stadium. Will make it all the more sweeter.

I dont bet on games either bud. Tennessee -10 means we are favored by 10 though...we are giving them 10 points. So in order for a person to bet UT and win, we have to win by 11 or more. Win by 10 would be a push.

If Heupel loses this game, there will be some loss of fan support...BVS is a real thing and the constant losing to our biggest rivals will be what erodes the support. If he loses, he will be 0-2 versus the Gators, and this is a Florida team that is ready to be exploited and beat down.

I just don't see it. We barely handled Pitt with a backup QB and 2 injured linemen. Akron is the 4th worst team in all of college football. I hope we return Tillman, Smalls and Sampson.

While I also think this is an important game, it does not prove a top 15 ranking unless we destroy Florida. I think this will be a close game. I certainly hope I am wrong and we destroy them.

We know UT will get Florida's best shot and they will put more than 10 on the board. The question is how much more. I do think UF has to match Pitt's offensive effort especially since this is a UT home game.
