According to StatShark.com - the Vols have a 64% chance of winning the bowl game.

StatShark uses the same forecasting technology used on ESPN and CBS sportsline.

Here's their game summary:

Tennessee is forecasted to play a good balanced offensive game. Erik Ainge is forecasted for 230 yds and over 1 TD while LaMarcus Coker and the rest of the Tennessee RBs are combining for over 110 yds rushing. These are impressive numbers vs the Penn St defense. Anthony Morelli is playing OK with 170 yds passing, but he is averaging just 0.7 TDs per sim. Tony Hunt is rushing for 71 yds and the advantage Tennessee has rushing the ball and passing the ball give them the clear edge on the scoreboard. They are winning 67% of simulations.

Very interesting post but I personally would not put any faith in a computer outcome because it cannot predict injuries, turnovers, or really bad coaching decisions.

True, anything can happen during the game, but the simulations are updated reguarly so the percentages may change. I'm not sure how often they will update during the bowl season, but during the reuglar season they updated the sims 3 times a week.

StatShark - Simulation Schedule

They were 10-2 on game winners for the Vols during the regular season.

Download the attached document and checkout page 4. It doesn't break them down by individual team record in this report. But I bought a 1 week subscription and it breaks down the sim performances of each individual team. It's pretty good stuff.

I've been using the reports and online tools for different pickem' games and an office pool I'm in. I also entered StatShark's pickem' game.

Hopefully I can come out on top one of them...

So why are we playing the game. The computer thinks we will likely win. Lets chalk up the W and move on to spring practice.

STATE in awe of VOLS speed. JOEPA could actually outrun most of the STATE players before he broke his leg. Now statshark intimidates them even more. I wouldn't blame them if they didn't show up for the game.

Now he's even with them?
