It's gotten better, when I graduated in 99, we were above 150.

Tier 3 sounds like my insurance prescription drug coverage. For some reason I'm thinking that they mean Mississippi schools suck.

I see this improving with CDD here. Not that this is that bad. It's just that I see CDD taking education very seriously.

I guess that explains how I graduated :)

I'm not sure Dooley will have much to do with the academic ranking of UT

What does the football coach have to do with academic ranking?

Dunno if you were saying these rankings are for football only but they are for the school as a whole.

I disagree a bit. He's looking for recruits that are good players, but also have good character and better than average grades. Doesn't mean he won't strike out here and there, but his process for recruiting should be bringing in better students overall, and that can't do anything but help.

the 85 football players out of 30k students won't make a difference. This is a school ranking not an athletic one

I see what you are saying, but I disagree a little with this. While I believe that character should play a part in a potential recruits evaluation, we wont win too many ball games focusing on bringing in "students" who are athletes. I mean look at Vandy and how competitive they are.

damn, they're really bringing your degree down right now.

If it was refering to football players academic rankings then yes, CDD would/should have something to do with it, if it is the entire school then he would only have a minimal influence on it.

Sorry but it's unclear to me to what they base these rankings. Is it based on the minimum requirements for entrance to attend the school, overall student body GPA, graduating senior GPA? I'd like to know how they, US News & World Report, came up with this before I would consider the ranking valid. No sarcasm
