2) Cotton Bowl: UCF
3) Rose: Michigan vs. Utah
4) Orange: Clemson vs. Tennessee
5) Sugar: K-State vs. LSU

Gets us out of their back yard too. If we aren’t going to Atlanta for the SECCG I don’t want to go to Atlanta to face UGA in Round 1 of the Playoffs.

I understand the thought process of putting USC into the playoff, but the PAC-12 is so freaking weak. Have you seen USC’s SOS and SOR compared to ours? I just don’t think the committee would jump us with USC. I get that they would be their conference champs, but is that really that great of an accomplishment?? The loser of the Michigan and Ohio state game should be out. We have our only loss to the #1 team in the country and the reigning national champions, in Athens might I add. ACC has no shot IMO. Barring something really flukey with the committee. They have both UNC and Clemson behind 2 loss Alabama currently. They won’t jump us. Im just sick of the doubt and worry. If this was a 1 loss Alabama would we even be having these conversations? No. They were ahead of TCU when they had 1 loss. So really what gives with us? Beat Alabama, have better SOS, and better SOR. The criteria changes week to week with this stupid committee and Im honestly sick of it. Tennessee wins out they should be in 110%, and if they aren’t it’s highway robbery. The best 2 teams in the country, IMO, are Georgia and then Tennessee.

The next highest-ranked SEC team not in the four-team playoff goes to the Sugar Bowl.

3. How can a SEC Team be selected to participate in the Orange Bowl?

When the Orange Bowl is not a semifinal game and a SEC team is the highest ranked team by the CFP Selection Committee among the non-champions of the SEC and Big Ten and ranked higher than Notre Dame after the CFP semifinal games have been filled, then that team will participate in the Orange Bowl. There are eight years in which the Orange Bowl is not a semifinal game and the SEC is guaranteed three of the eight years, the Big Ten is guaranteed three of the eight years and the remaining two years can be filled by Notre Dame, the SEC or the Big Ten based on CFP Selection Committee rankings. The SEC Champion can never participate in the Orange Bowl unless it is a semifinal game.

Seems sort of contradictory… we would be the highest ranked non-champion of the SEC and Big10. Based on other articles I have read on selection; I’m still thinking Orange Bowl if not the CFP.

Ok, now that I have a CFP selection potential headache, I hope we beat the spread in both our remaining games to avoid any possibility of the committee playing the UNDER PERFORMED card. Increasing our lead in total offense and scoring would be nice. Kind of wishing for a 21-0 win by one side in the OSU-UM matchup and GA by same score over LSU. Gotta let the TCU thing play itself out I guess.

I hear you, but Atlanta isn't exactly on the other side of the country. I think UT travels to Fiesta or Peach very well. Tickets are sold 50/50. I lived in Atlanta and UT, as well a Auburn, is very well represented there. It's an easy drive with many influential fans/alumni already living there. I'd prefer OSU in Fiesta but playing UGA in ATL wouldn't be like playing them in Athens.

Understanding this, I don’t see any way Tennessee falls to the Cotton Bowl. It would either be Orange or Sugar.

We win out.....Kentucky beats Georgia this weekend.
OSU beats Michigan....Tennessee to #4
Tennessee beats OSU...Tennessee #1 again in the polls.
Tennessee beats Georgia....and we are 2022/2023 National Champs.
Playing one of these games in the South-land would mean I am traveling and need tickets. Otherwise...big screen, cold beer, BBQ....
