Look at the Big Ten's top 5 teams and their conference schedules this year:I know the Little 10 whined about the SEC not playing 9 conference games but look at those schedule and compare that to the current Little 10 schedules where you get to play Rutgers, Northwestern, Maryland, UCLA, Minnesota, Purdue, etc. and tell who has the weak schedules. The worst SEC schedule will be tougher than most, if not all, Big 10 schedules. Yes, the Big 10 has good teams at the top but the depth just isn’t near the SEC, as the bottom half of the Big 10 is pitiful.

We don’t know who our three permanent opponents are for 2030 yet. That will be re-evaluated at the time.

They each play 2-3 games that are a threat. Top SEC teams play double that, although these days the “easy” SEC wins are not so easy.Look at the Big Ten's top 5 teams and their conference schedules this year:
Ohio St - at Washington, Minnesota, at Illinois, at Wisconsin, Penn State, at Purdue, UCLA, Rutgers, at Michigan
Penn St - Oregon, at UCLA, Northwestern, at Iowa, at Ohio St, Indiana, at Michigan St, Nebraska, at Rutgers
Oregon - at Northwestern, at Penn St, Indiana, at Rutgers, Wisconsin, at Iowa, Minnesota, USC, at Washington
USC - at Purdue, Michigan St, at Illinois, Michigan, at Nebraska, Northwestern, Iowa, at Oregon, UCLA
Indiana - Illinois, at Iowa, at Oregon, Michigan St, UCLA, at Maryland, at Penn St, Wisconsin, at Purdue
That's like five teams going 10-2 or better and in a 16 team playoff, they all make it
Wish we could get that West Virginia neutral site game changed to a home and home series.

The one game I was almost certain they would schedule is Texas in Knoxville for this exact reason. Same reason they sent us to Oklahoma last year with the angle of Josh returning home. It’s about TV and marketing. As someone who lives in Austin, not too surprised. Arch coming to Neyland with the whole Manning angle makes sense.
We need to find a good QB in the portal after this season or start getting Gmac some snaps when we can. Our schedule is about to get real as is every other SEC team
I agree, but we got to have another scholarship QB, I believe Merk leaves, need a QB with some experience, I say get one and let them battle it out. I do really like Gmac.If they get a QB in the portal, I doubt it would be for a starter. I know they’re really high on Mac. I agree they need to get him ready for next year. Of course, a big part of that is adding weight.
We owe West Virginia a ass kicking
