Tennesse’s only path to CFP

We beat Vandy 56-0 without Hooker so based on that quote we’re good

My point is that they consider injuries to key players.

And we didn’t really have a passing attack. It definitely hurts us to not have Hendon, that’s the reason he was the starter. I really hope Joe locks in with an extra month of practice, but I would say our offense looks worse without Hendon. Vandy was a bad team to play for the eye test. They had no answer for us pulling blockers in the second half.

@Jake Tate you posted an outdated link. There's no "eye test" qualifier. Injuries have zero impact. CFP members should be forced to announce their votes Vols/Bama

There’s also this straight from the CFP bylaws as a key principle:
  • Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

@CR-vol it’s also in the bylaws. Unavailability of KEY players. I would say our Heisman candidate QB is key, wouldn’t you?

Y’all got to let this go. We got stomped by USCjr. We had no chance from start to finish. That was the nail in the coffin. We still had an amazing season. It’s okay.

I would say we have a quality backup capable of filling the void and haven't missed a step until shown otherwise. We blanked Vanderbilt.

52% completion percentage and 147 yds through the air is missing a step against Vandy. We wanted to air it out and couldn’t. We have one healthy scholarship QB. Fortunately, we played Vandy and they couldn’t stop the run game, but if we don’t get our passing game improved by January, we will get stomped by Clemson.

CFP comittee looks closely at Ala vs UT common opponents. Rewards UT’s better SOS.
East was more dominant than west by far at least the top 3-4 teams this year - disregarding history.
UT won head to head - every recognized tiebreaker in the world looks there first. And ranks UT 6th tuesday night.
1.UGA
2. Mich
3. TCU
4. USC
5. OSU
6. Tenn
7. Ala
if that happens AND USC gets pounded by Utah (possible) and TCU gets walloped by KSU (possible) ….
Then
1. UGA
2. Mich
3. OSU
4. UT
5. Ala
UT is in…its a very longshot but not unbelievable.
What if Michigan loses the conference championship? Could that knock OSU behind us?

@Jake Tate - you only sampled the one game for Milton there. It was raining not exactly the best circumstances to be throwing all over the field. We rolled up about 360 yards on the ground and we're a run first team anyway. Like I said really no drop off at all.

It’s the one game the committee had to sample. I did what they probably did as well. Listen, I agree we should be ranked higher, I’m just saying what I expected from the committee based on their previous statements and inconsistencies.
