Tennesee set the precedent for football when they fired CPF

If CPF wasn't allow to turn things around after his bad 3 year run .(well we almost won the sec championship that second year but that didn't count) Then how can the AD justify letting this go any further . Not a hater but just asking the question if 2 out of 3 while winning the east wasn't good enough how in the heII is this.

Did you forget 2005?

2 losing seasons in four years, 4 straight losses to Florida, 1-3 versus Bama, 1 bowl win(excluding the forfeit by Penn St).

Any great program is measured in how many bowl wins they get and how they do against their rivals.

Fulmer was terrible for four years and not much better in the 4 before that.

It's just the few remaining Fulmerons that are using this as another chance to lobby for a job, ANY JOB, for their idol. Best to ignore them and move on IMO.

I don't recall anyone saying they really wish for him to come back. It has all been hypothetical. But in all honesty, it certainly wouldn't have been any worse due to the class that Kiffin ran off. Again, all hypothetical.

What job does he need? In the barn with EVERYTHING a up and coming coach could hope for. Quit hatin'

First BCS title. 150 wins. Top 5 in SEC history. Hall of Fame. Your welcome.

He was a great coach for the first half of his career. I've never argued anything otherwise. Unfortunately he, and apparently a lot of our fans, felt that had earned him a lifetime job.

Took the inference that you wanted to keep him around. If not, my bad.

No. He was not going to beat Saban or Meyer. My thing is, one you fire him, game over. No more bashing. Time to appreciate what we did accomplish. Let the OTHER team talk about us, not US. Pathetic. Really. Embarrassing to me. Fulmer had an excellent career. Better people came in and ousted him. But that takes nothing away from what we did win. I dont have any grudges against him. He did what he could and went out a Vol. Never quit. Never left. Just fought it out with best of them. All of these so-called fans can say what they want. Fulmer is a champion.

15 seasons of at least 8 wins. 2 seasons with a losing record. 100 more wins than losses. Thems the facts. No disputing that. -- Now, go look up ALL the coaches in college football history. How many pulled that off? Exactly. Next.

I have believed myself to be arguing with members of the See, We Never Shoulda Fired Fulmer To Begin With brigade. I don't have any patience for those nimrods. If that's not you, then my apologies for misconstruing your posts.

I liked Fulmer a lot, but it was unfortunately time for him to go. The fact that we've subsequently screwed it up even worse doesn't make that untrue.

You are arguing with a Fulmerite. And a Pimp.

Well give Dooley 5 more years & he may be great for the following 10. Seems logical.

How do WE know what HE thought? Assumes facts not in evidence.

Well, he said publicly that he planned to hang on long enough to win more games than Gen Neyland, despite the obvious painful downward arc of the last half of his career. He sure seemed to believe that he would have the job as long as he wanted to.

As opposed to saying what? Saying he planned in losing and getting fired? I believe I am going to have my job as well. What is wrong with that? You should be optimistic. How things are really are and how they seem are usually different.

Once I parse this dumb non sequitur out, you seem to be arguing that since an incompetent coach can't suddenly become good, a good coach can't ever decline. Really?

If Saban ever went 10 years without an SEC championship and had 2 losing seasons in 4 years, I guarantee you he would be fired from Alabama.

Going back to your original comment, all I am saying is giver Fulmer his due, he had a lot of good years, not saying he didnt deserve to be fired. He did alot for tenn football and still loves it so everyone needs to stop the hate
