No this one is not a joke as I've saw it on other boards and also heard on two radio stations this morning.

UCLA will be on September 1st.

The UAB came has been moved to September 13th.

I dont know why they did this, but I did notice the we had two open days on the scheduel. They were probably trying to get rid of that.

I did like the fact that we had an open day before Florida though, hope that doesnt come back to bite us in the rear.

I think I had rather play the weekend before Florida. Especially with the new offense. Get as many live game snaps as possible.

The only thing is the short week going into UAB with the first game being on Monday and on the left coast.

If this was true, it would be posted on utsports.com....I show nothing on that site.

Surely Govols wouldn't report a joke. I hope it is a joke. I don't like this at all. This gives us 9 straight games before our next off week. There not easy games either.
Who wants to open the season on a monday and then have a week off immediately? I would much rather open on a saturday and have another game to look forward to the very next week.

I'm sure UAB would drop Alabama State if we wanted them to. We can always drop UAB and add another similar opponent.

Go Vols Extra is just a site. If there was ANY truth to this, it would be posted all over the official UT site...utsports.com....There is nothing mentioned on there.

There's not going to be an official announcement until this afternoon. The Alabama State game that UAB has is going be pushed back to Sept. 20th to accommodate this change.

Look at the dates...it's not a short week, it's a short two weeks.

Utsports would not post it until it was official. It said on Govols an official announcement was expected this afternoon.

I hope it is a joke. This would not be a good idea in my opinion.

Certainly not a good idea from the standpoint of all those who have purchased tickets to the left coast.....I'm still banking on a joke here...

Absolutely not a joke. Announcement this afternoon. UCLA rescheduled Fresno State and UAB moved games as well.

For better or worse, UT v. UCLA will be a prime time Monday night game.

If nothing else, the program will get great exposure. Having a nationally televised game on with no other football games the entire day can do nothing but help recruiting.

Interesting. It takes 10 years to get Ohio State on the schedule, but this fall's schedule is quite flexible.

Wonder if we could get the Gators to schedule us as the second game of a double-header for them.

It usually takes three days for UT sports to report anything.....
