I really hope you guys can win. I like your chances, too even though I picked Ohio St. Oden is not all he is cracked up to be although he can be good when he is actually mentally into the game. Lofton and your guards are tremendous, and Crews and Chism make for a great inside game. They will just need to contain Conley, Cook, and Lewis and I like your chances. So I hope that the orange is well represented for the SEC in San Antonio.

BTW what do you think about the other South Semifinal... TAMU vs. Memphis?

Go Vols, Go SEC

Thanks LSUFan. :peace2:

I too think Texas A&M will win that game. Memphis is good but not as good as A&M.

Thanks Tigerfan. I've been a UT hoops fan for 26 years, and this is easily the coolest thing that's happened to us. Sweet 16 is huge - and a totally different feeling than when we went with Jerry Green. I think we will certainly be motivated to play THE Ohio State University again.

I say TAMU in that game, esp. since it's being played in San Antonio. The powers that be would love an A&M v. Ohio State matchup, so look for UT to get jobbed on some calls.

On a side note, I would love to see a chess match between Bruce Pearl and Billy Gillispie. That would be one for the ages.

Gotta get past OSU first if possible, though...

Is is just me or is it ominous that a bunch of Volunteers are going to San Antonio to play in the Alamodome?

Thank goodness we're bringing tons of long-range firepower this time around!

Yup- time for the Vols to make their stand :clapping:

They are either going to make or break my bracket

Nice call. Look for CBS announcers to use that one about 500 times during the game.

seeing that there will probably be a majority of A&M fans there, I say we cheer for the A&M to win and then maybe they'll cheer for us against OSU since we'll be the underdog

Good idea. It's worth a shot. I mean, come on, you're a self-respecting Texan ... who do you root for, Ohio State or Tennessee?

Plus, we'll be the underdog. Quick, somebody remind me about how we play as the underdog ... :)

Slick Rick says, Tennessee can beat Ohio State. Tennessee should have won the first meeting between the two teams. Ohip State is lucky to be playing The Big Orange. If Tennessee wins this game it will put a mark on the program that will take it to a level never seen by Volunteer fans. If Tennessee shoots the 3 ball well against Ohio State they could very easily pull the upset.

DowntownVol says, this is a winnable game, but it will require Chism to play terrific defense on Oden and hold him to 20 points or so, for Lofton to have a truly Lofton-like game, and for UT to shoot 50% from the field and 75%+ from the line.

But it can be done, my friends. It can be done.

this game is such an interesting matchup. this will be chisms third or fourth time facing off aginst oden going back to highschool, so its not like they havent met before. watching ohiostate run there defense, besides the big man in the middle, they really dont have anyone that will be able to lock down lofton. and with chisms ability to stretch the defense out, he may get oden out of the box. their guards kinda make me nervous, but not really. after fighting off uva's today, i dont know if osu can play any better. I know we will press hard. we will force our turnovers in this one and we proved today we can make ft's down the stretch to win a game. the x factor of course will be the play of childress and bradshaw. if these players keep leaving childress open, he will drill his threes. nothing really makes me nervous about ohio state. i have seen them play alot this year and they have never look overly impressive, just teams cant close out games aginst them and i think that it will finally catch up to them this time.
