Awesome game. ninja gaiden crossed with metalgear.
Some may remember this from ps2 and I think there may have been one on ps1.

yup! I played the very first Tenchu on PS way back in the day! Even though the controls were atrocious, I still loved the game =)

Blasphemy! You'd be hard pressed to convince me that any game deserves comparison to NG.

Even though they're both Ninja games, Tenchu and Ninja Gaiden are both very different.

Tenchu on the PS2 is one of my favorite games ever. It's closer to Metal Gear than to any other Ninja game, because you have to be slow and careful, or else you get dominated. Very cool style, though. Can't wait for a new instalment.

The Tenchu series has always been plauged by poor camera vision. Those guys just can't seem to get the 3rd person perspective angle down. Once you wrangle with the controls for awhile, you figure out how to use the sometimes akward view. But they could make it much better.

I haven't played this one yet. Didn't really plan to after all the stuff I've read. Bad camera, gameplay, and graphics. Might have to check it out sometime soon and see for myself though.

The first one on PS1 was fun.

I'm not noticing any bad camera angles or anything bad really. They really cleaned out all the glitches for this one. The icon that goes around a guy when you are close enough for a stealth kill really helps too. The only unrealistic thing is that the bad guys never notice you on a rooftop.

That's because ninjas wear black and only attack at night.

For ConMan and the rest of you XBox fanboys who are not properly initiated with the world of ninjas and ninjadom, read.

Are you ready to get pumped

No I don't own a PS3 yet. Been too busy to put any hours in on the ol' console as of late (except for my mandatory Gran Turismo 4 hours). That said, I've read a handful of reviews for NG:S and most agree it's easily the best one yet, and arguably the best game currently available on the PS3.

Interesting. I decided to see what the ol' boys at Iberian's had to say about it, and most are terribly disappointed. While the graphics are definitely next gen, the gameplay isn't as fun as Black. :dunno:

I always check out the press average and reader average over at IGN. There are some 360 guys who still have their panties in a bunch that the new Gaiden isn't on their system, but 15 press reviews so far have the game pegged as a 8.9/10 and the IGN readers average is 8.8/10.

In other words, hardcore NG fans don't like it, but the people that couldn't play the ones on xbox love it b/c it is easier.

It isn't that much different than Black... NG2 will be on 360... or possibly even both systems.

No, I've actually seen a lot of hardcore NG fans that do like it. The XBox fanboys are the ones who are pissed.

Who are these "Hardcore NG fans" ??? Pretty much every hardcore NG fan hangs out at IberianWarrior's. Many of them bought a PS3 just for Sigma, and aren't terribly happy with the gameplay.

Good to hear they cleaned the glitches up and fixed the camera physics.

That's kind of like being king of the dipwads.

Borrowed this game from my bud this past weekend. It's pretty fun! I do, however, have some qualms about it.

1. Enemy AI - It's still stuck in PS1 mode. The enemies are downright retarded. I was very disappointed with this. It seemed like the same AI that was on the first Tenchu!!

2. Akward controls. Nothing is fluid. Hands start to hurt after awhile from being in sneak mode all the time (which requires you to constantly hold down a button.) Items and grappling hook are tough to use on the fly and require you to menu scroll to select them. Grappling hook takes about 5 seconds to work.

With the exception of the graphics, this game is stuck in 1998. It might be worth a rent- but don't buy it unless you absolutely love ninjas.
