Ten Wins in 2011?

8-4
Montana - W
Cincinnati - W
@ Florida - L
Buffalo - W
Georgia - L
LSU - W
@ Alabama - L
S. Carolina - W
MTSU - W
@ Arkansas - L
Vanderbilt - W
@ Kentucky - W

Offense - QB, RB, and OL should all improve. The receivers take a slight step back due to all of the lost experience with Jones, Moore & Stocker.

Defense - DL and DBs should improve. I am very high on Jackson and Brewer at safety. Incoming freshmen will contribute as well. LBs will take a step back though.

We finished with the #10 d in the SEC and 70th nationally.

Well be better next season but 9 wins? Put the koolaid down.

Beat 4 lousy teams in a row and suddenly the Vols are contenders next season...

Ah, the ol' strawman argument.

'zat you, Obama?

No Next year will be just as tough. We are losing our two best WR's. (i know we have Hunter, Rogers)

We are losing: Denarius Moore, Gerald Jones, Gerald Williams, Nick Reveiz, Lamarcus Thompson, Jarrod Shaw, Chris Walker, Luke Stocker, Victor Thomas, Kevin Cooper, and Savion Frazier.

That is 11 Starters... Next Year will be Maybe not as rough as this year but still quite a challenge. You cant expect too much out of Incoming Freshman.

I will be content with 6-6(with a bowl victory) or very happy with 7-5 and will be calling for SEC coach of the year is Dooley leads us to 8-4. (9-4 with bowl victory)

The SECe will be a slugfest next year. SC will have the edge with Lattimore and Jeffery back, but GA will lose Jones (and possibly Richt), and FL is struggling and may lose Meyer. With a second-year coach, seasoned sophomores and a solid recruiting class, we should definitely be in the hunt. Ten wins will be tough, but I'm betting on a winning season and top two or three in the SECe.

Moore and Jones are obviously very talented, but with a year of experience and more study time there really shouldn't be any real dropoff in wr with hunter, Rogers and Rogers. As much as I love Reveiz, he's not a huge loss. Nor are Shaw, Cooper, Thomas or Frazier. I do hate losing Walker and Stocker though. TE and the dline will be our biggest trouble spots next year.

I can understand Hunter... but not the Rogers... especially not zach. Darick can not run routes at all and yes he will get better but not close to Gerald Jones' ability.

Reviz playing mlb and being the coach on the field will mean losing more than just tackles.

Darick has the speed, the hands and the ability to create separation. He will develop into one of Tennessee's all time best

UGA Jones? You mean Green? Also I've got a feeling we may have the best QB in the conference next season. When you have a good QB you're always in the hunt. I think our defense will be a lot better than this season. Also our team will be in its second season in the systems. They'll be playing fast and confident.

I think Arnett will take some of that slot WR role over. But I also think Rivera will be our third down money man. Vincent Dallas is an EE. And we'll see what Milton and Meline do in their second year. Kinda giddy about the 2011 offense.

Bray will continue to get better. Poole, Neal, Oku will improve and we will have some added depth with Smith. We have some serious talent at WR. Da'rick, Justin, Milton, White Lightning, DeMario, add Arnett to the mix and maybe Meline.. we will need these young guys to step up and I think they can. We have some serious issues at TE, hopefully Rivera can step up.. I'm not sold on Downs so hopefully Clear or maybe even Rome (wishful thinking) can come in and help. We return 4 starters on the offensive line and it won't be too hard finding a 5th starter.. needless to say, I feel the offense will take many steps forward. The extra bowl game and the practices that go along with it will work wonders for us.

Defensive Line will be an issue for sure. We have some talented players though.. Malik, Miller, Smith, Hughes, Walls, Bohannon will be back + Couch.. hopefully we can add some more quality players here. At LB, Lathers and A. Johnson will have to hold it down, we have some other players that can step in also.. Vereen has received some PT as well as Propst, King, Crump, and Askew if he can get his act together.. (AJ Johnson, Harris, and maybe even Dawson could help here.. and at DB, Janzen will return better than ever. Teague and Gordon will improve at corner. Brewer, Evans, Naz, PreWagg along with recruits like Coleman, Randolph, Martin, and hopefully Loften..

Our O will step forward and our D may step back but the future product looks good.. That said, my prediction for next year..

We'll beat LSU next season mark it down now. Arkansas scares me more than any of the other teams. We'll have to win a shootout against them.

I think you all are putting way too much stock into potential ... I mean I hope all the frosh can come in and make an impact, but that's not very likely...

And sayin darick Rogers will be one of the greatest wrs of all time is def farfetchd...all he does is run sweeps. I think we will be lacking consistentcy.. therefore .. 7-8 wins would be a great year.

Woah, slow down there overachiever! :p

Seriously I don't see 10 wins next year. We lose our 2 senior WR's, our senior starting TE, our leader on defense, and we are still looking to field a D with some decent DT's and build some depth at several positions. I'm not saying we won't have a good year but there are still a lot of questions to be answered and we will be playing with a LOT of youth.

My GUESS is that we finish 8-4, which is realistic. If we do that and advance to a decent bowl (Cotton or Chick Fil-A) I would consider it yet another positive step towards being "back"

2012-2013 are the years we need to look to for SEC contention.
