1. Montario Hardesty. What can you say? 39 carries, 179 yards, 3 td's. Only one fumble this year. Playing behind a porous line. No doubt the MVP of our team.

2. Luke Stocker has been exceptional this year. He had a hell of a game. But in that situation, when you get the first down, just go down. You don't need the extra yards. It was a good hit by the UK defender, but gotta wrap up the ball.

3. Loved seeing Crompton coming back from the pick six. Two months ago, he folds like a cheap tent. Yet he came out and played a solid game. That was great to see.

4. Randall Cobb is a good player. I think he would be a good player at UT and I wish the former regime recruited him harder and signed him. But he's not a backbreaker like what we could have had with Golden Tate.

5. The defense looked better with Janzen Jackson. I don't know why, but they looked totally different then the last two weeks.

6. Speaking of defense, it was great to see Monte making the proper adjustments at halftime, and mostly shutting down UK in the 2nd half. UK had nothing going on offense.

7. I thought Lane called his best game tonight. It seemed like almost every play was the right call. He did an excellent job tonight.

8. Gerald Jones has really picked up his game. That long catch he had was excellent. Makes you wonder what could have happened had he been healthy during the beginning of the year. He's starting to become a playmkaer.

9. I know most people think our O-Line will get worse next year, but in my personal opinion, we will have so much better talent. I'm sorry to the Sullins brothers, but they are not SEC caliber O-Linemen. It will be interesting to see how our O-Line does next year.

10. Tough, hard fought, gritty victory. Good job tonight all around, and while it should not have come down to OT, a win is a win in the SEC. I love what Hardesty has done, and he should get All-American considerations. We should get the Outback Bowl against Wisconsin.

Go Vols :hi:

The only problem I had with Lane's coaching tonight, was at the end of the half, he should've used all his timeouts in the first half. Instead, he ran a draw play, then there were only 12 seconds...only had time for one more play, which lead to a missed FG. If he calls timeout there, we have time for 3 more plays instead of only 2, and maybe get to within a 40 yard FG.

Also, at the end of the game when UK had the ball inside our 15 with 1:50 left. I would've called timeout after their plays, so we get the ball back with more time on the clock and a chance to win in regulation.

We did end up winning, so I guess I can't complain too much, but I felt those coaching decisions almost cost us the game...THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN CRITICAL OF KIFFIN SINCE HE'S BEEN HIRED. So don't call me a hater. I thought his playcalling was superb tonight.

Great post!! I agree on all but #4 I would have loved to have Randall Cobb in orange and white. I think he would have been a great reciever and just what we need in our Wildcat formation, oh well. Other than that, without Hardesty, Jones, and I cant believe I'm saying this but Crompton I don't know where we would be. Great job VOLS...lets start believing in Knoxville!!

I understand. I had no problem with the way he handled the end of the game. I don't understand the halftime thing. I want to see what he has to say, because honestly, i have no idea what that was about.

I'm not going to complain too much, but I do think we should have run a few times late in the game when we opted for short passes / screen plays. A few more ticks off of the clock and we wouldn't have had that OT scare. Also, when our rushing game was chugging along like it was, there's almost no way they're going to keep us from a first down when we run three times in a row.

Other than that, great game!

Cregg is one of, if not the most, underrated coach on staff. The work he did with the O-line this year was spectacular. I don't want to take away from our guys, but just look what he had to work with.

Minus the Ole Miss game, and they have hung with or whipped everybody they played. Kudos to Cregg and our boys.

Was anyone else confused on why UK didn't run down the clock at the end of the half? They were snapping the ball with 10-15 seconds left on the play clock and the clock running. Why not run the clock down (or make us use our timeouts) and avoid giving us a shot with 30 seconds left?

I don't fully agree with number 7. Terrible clock management at the end of the half. Some of the play calls left me scratching my head also. A win is a win though.

Gonna be great to see what he and the other coaches can do with some depth, and options.

No one needs to forget Dennis Rogan shedding his block and making the tackle of the game on 3rd and goal for UK on their last drive. It probably was a game saving tackle with such limited time left on the clock.

You are absolutely right. Coach Cregg has done a great job with a less than typical UT OL. Two walkons, a converted RS TE at tackle, Vlad has been hurt, transforming C Scott from an overweight soft, sloth. We will be young a OL next season, but the increase in talent level should equal things out. Then for the next few years look out.

This staff is incredible--let's hope they stay around to see the results of their hard work. Who cares how much they cost.

Good point reminded me of OT game a couple of years ago.

I have no idea what UK was doing at the end of the game. They were calling time outs for us! They never took a shot to the end zone, AND kept taking the ball out of Cobb's hands. I had no clue to what they were doing. I liked it though:).

Cobb, yeah he's a player for sure. A little slippery with the ball though, but I'd like to have him playing for us for sure! Tate what a player he's become, I saw him play a couple of times and knew he was good, but wasn't sure if he was big time or not. Now it seems every week he does something special, we missed out on a Gamebreaker for sure.

Oh yeah, we should be thankful for those Sully boys. Sticking in there year after year having no scholly for the longest. Some of the biggest hearts out there! Maybe not typicall D1 size, but they're never to hurt to play, scholar athletes, and haven't robbed anyone yet.
True football players, with good attitudes

Reminds me of when we played back in HS, #74, #75 Right Guard, Right tackle
WHITE HOUSE !!!!! Oh yeah 6'2 260lbs , yeah right, put a scale in front of them and if thier not right at 280, I'll eat my words

Absolutely, that was the play of the game IMO.
