Ten Reasons why Tennessee has a chance to beat Bama

And here's an opposing viewpoint:

2. You think your receivers are stepping up because they had an ok game against UGA, one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Bama leads the nation in defensive pass efficiency rating at 83.85.

To add to that, Bama has the #1 defense in the country right now. They allow only 11.57 points/game, 226.57 yrds/game and only 63.30 rushing yrds/game. And the Vol fans are banking on Crompton & Hardesty to run and pass all over the field?

. 1. Then you're in the same boat as us.

If you are inferring that UT is a "habitual cheater," as the NCAA has claimed 'Bama to be, then you would be incorrect. Our program has not been placed on probation ONCE...yours has been more than once.

However, if you're inferring that the misinformed comment; "God hates cheaters;" means we're all in the same boat b/c God does not hate the sinner, only the sin, then you would be correct.

I agree, but I think it is more of a respect deal. It ticks me when someone mispronounces my name or spells it incorrectly. However I think rockydoc deserves the benefit of the doubt that it could have been a fat finger foul up while typing.:hi:

That must be one HUGE finger...

...and I'm with you, his name is Kiffin. If you can figure out how to get to this website, you can for sure spell his name right. You all would get livid if I wrote, "I sure love to be in front of Kneeland Stadium!", as I would be too.

And here's an opposing viewpoint:

10. It doesn't matter who is back on your offensive line, Bama's defensive line is better.

9. Only in your world is Crompton better than McElroy.

8. Two weeks to rest is as likely to mean "rusty" as it is to mean "rested". Besides that, Bama is a deeper team and needs less rest than UT.

7. You played a big game, on the road, and lost. Arkansas played them closer than you guys did. Bama played a big game, in Atlanta, against VT and won. They've also won every other game, some of them against ranked teams.

6. Monte Kiffin can coach. So can Bud Foster. So can Nick Saban and Kirby Smart. The difference is, Bama has the players to execute.

5. Bama did lose Hightower. Fortunately, LB was our deepest area. There has been no dropoff since we lost Danta.

4. You have some skill players. So does every other team. Being "overdue" just means they haven't done anything yet.

3. Pressure all on Bama - I'll give you that. I don't think these guys feel the pressure though.

2. You think your receivers are stepping up because they had an ok game against UGA, one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Bama leads the nation in defensive pass efficiency rating at 83.85.

1. We paid to have the same officiating crew that gave Florida a win against Arkansas because Slive wants both Florida and Alabama to be undefeated come the SEC championship.

I wish you guys good luck and a healthy game.

I personally dont see any reason why you CANT beat Bama. They are beatable, I mean, we kept it close all the way to the 4th quarter, and hell, we even gave them 7 points to start things off.
I will say this, Crompton better bring the same game to Tuscaloosa that he had when UGA game to town, because Bama's D is pretty danged good. But, so is yours. Should be one hell of a defensive game. I dont think it will be highscoring at all.
Flip a coin, whoever, wins by 3-6 maybe. If I had to, Id give Bammer a slight edge, just cause its a home game. Their offense didnt blow me away...but watch that damned RB of theirs. Monte needs to dial something up for that kid. Again, GL with the game, hope noone gets hurt, cause we want you at full health in Neyland on 31 October. Meanwhile, we gonna beat up on your little sisters this weekend, hopefully...dang beyotch has kicked us in the jimmy 2 years in a row now...ugh...

First of all, UT's defense is good, but Bama's is great. There are no weaknesses, and especially not against a team without a great QB. As for South Carolina, the Gamecocks could have played all day and never crossed the goal line. Nevertheless, Spurrier and company brought their A-game and lost by ONLY 14 points. Ole Miss brought their A-game (into their own stadium) and lost by ONLY 19 points. Yet, somehow Bama is beatable based on those two wins. I'll take that kind of beatable any day. The Vols will try to stop Ingram by crowding the line, and McElroy will throw the ball... to Ingram coming out of the backfield. The Vols will then start playing for the screen, and Ingram will run over them up the middle. The Vols will then try to do both, and McElroy will throw deep, as he did in the first five games this year. Bama has won 19 straight regular season games for a reason. They know how to win.

Screening 8 in the box who are concentrating on the run is colossally stupid. I assume your coaches will agree and disregard anything you say, just like everyone else.

I'm talking about your coaches, not ours. Luckily, Bama doesn't have to worry about stopping Ingram. Good luck with that, by the way. Anything can happen, but it's laughable reading some of the posts here saying basically, "once we shut down Bama's running game, we'll beat 'em." Yeah, right.... it's really easy... just shut down that old running game...

By the way, who said anything about 8 in the box? Even UT fans should know that might be a problem...

You were not talking about your coaches. You were talking about how McElroy is going to throw to Ingram to beat our focus on the run. I would try to pretend I didn't say it too, but it is now immortalized. Awesome.
