Not this year. I’m thinking OS dog walks them

I thought that last year. Paid 2k for my best friend and myself as a gift. Sat there in 8 degrees and both of us damn near got frost bite. Watched Day go absolutely stupid and just try to run it.

I will believe OSU beats Michigan when it happens.

This goes back to Cooper days.

They are our FL.

We did just beat FL though so maybe you’re right…..

We beat #12 Vandy
#17 Texas loses to #3 A&M
#15 Miami loss to # 23 Pittsburgh
UCF beats # 9 BYU
Kansas beats Utah

All very possible
It’s going to take more than that but it’s a start. It’s difficult to determine this because there are still a lot of unknowns about which teams will play in their CCGs.

BYU just needs to either lose to Kansas or Texas Tech in the Bug 12 title (assuming that’s the matchup). The big one is the ACC whether one or two. Miami is not likely to make the ACC title game and if they beat Pitt then they guarantee themselves what’s probably the last spot. They absolutely have to lose. Because at that point a team outside the current top 12 from ACC takes up a spot with an auto bid. Basically we need to climb 8 spots #10 to get in due tot he G5 and ACC auto bids. And if Utah is not in the Big 12 title game then they would need to lose to Kansas this weekend. They should have lots to K-State yesterday. Those scenarios would possibly ge us the 11 seed. But there is a ton that has to happen.

We also need Ohio State to beat Michigan. Championship games could create a condrum especially if Bama is the rep and loses. For the sake of argument I’m assuming the current top 10 teams aside from byu are a lock, Utah loses this weekend and Miami loses to Pitt. If those two things don’t happen the chances move close to zero.

Just win next week. Whatever happens elsewhere shouldn't be a concern right now
Yes, time to squash Vandy's dream.

For those who may be thinking about Vandy winning so that there would be a rep from Tennessee - think of it this way - if the tables were turned you can bet Vandy fans would NOT be wishing the same for Tennessee.

Here is the ONLY path

View of it as 10 teams plus ACC Champ and G5 team. There are 9 teams that we have NO shot of passing (Ohio State, IU, AM, UGA, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Bama). That means the following must happen

ND has to lose at Stanford. If ND wins, bowl game here we come.

Plus ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MUST HAPPEN

Beat Vandy
Utah loses to Kansas
BYU loses to UCF
Texas loses to AM
Miami loses to Pitt
Michigan loses to OSU

Here are some reasonable things that would help:

We beat Vandy soundly, earning us a bump upward, WHILE...

Ohio State thrashes Michigan, who drop well below us...and...

A&M beats Texas, causing the Longhorns also to drop below us...and...

Texas Tech, Utah, and BYU cannibalize each other so that only one of the three (the conference champ) remains in the hunt...and...

Pitt beats Miami, knocking them out of the picture...

... if all those things happen, I could see us ending up in the #11, #12 or #13 spot leading into conference championship weekend.

But I can't see anything at all that gets us any higher than there. At least, nothing any more likely than 4-7 Stanford beating Notre Dame.

And if we're in the #11 or #12 position, we're out. Because there's an ACC champion and a G5 champion ranked somewhere lower than us who trump our best possible spots.

No, as most here have said, there's no reasonable chance for us to make the playoffs this year. But we can whup someone's butt in a decent second-tier bowl and start getting ready for 2026.

Gotta start with knocking Vandy's socks off.

Go Vols!

The only thing on here that's absolutely impossible is there is no way Utah loses to Kansas or BYU loses to UCF the rest are at least feasible

Can't. Bowl game is our post season
Definitely. At this point, best outcome would be to finish near #10 in AP/Coaches final pole. Haven't looked at all scenarios...first gotta beat Vandy, ideally in a healthy manner. OSU beat Mich. TaM beat TX. Pitt beat Miami. VT beat Virginia...all of these things could easily happen, which I'm guessing, at best puts us at 13/14. Win bowl game. At the end of the day, though we certainly gave the UGA game away, our 3 losses are to teams in top 10. I never really thought we were a top 10 team this year, but beat Vandy and see where things fall out.
