You know, VFL34, you have more FB talent in one finger than I have in my whole body--or ever had--

but this comment by you is absolute HORSE-@#$&!!

It was just LAST YEAR with you posted in a thread about how Jalen is a much better RB than Alabama's HENRY...and how Hurd was gonna be much better in the NFL than him....

And how HURD had a much better upside than Kamara because of his longer stride and power....

And NOW you want US to believe that Tee Martin was RIGHT when he said that HURD WAS SOFT???

BULL--EFFIN'--SHEEET!!!!!

I've watched HURD play in the SEC now for almost 3 years like the rest.....and HE IS ANYTHING BUT SOFT!!!

I ALSO read your post before the BAMA game about how we Tennessee and we GONNA BEAT BAMA.....

I know that you don't have to give a Dang about what I think at all...but until now I really was willing to hear you when you spoke....

But NOT ANYMORE!! Thanks for all that you did for UT on the field and off..and I will always admire you for your team attitude, toughness, and selflessness....

But I can't abide this HORSE-crap HURD being soft....

And a bunch of you dudes better be careful about what is said about HURD.... He is going to play in the NFL...and he is gonna be VERY GOOD.....

You think some of you idiots would have learned something by now from making wrong conclusions about Arian Foster's talent and ability.....

:jpshakehead:

He said the comment was in reference to his attitude and that he walked around campus like he was better than Peyton.

His rant was comical and out of context, but wtf does this have to do with anything......

And there goes any credibility you had on volnation. VFL34 is exactly what his name says "VFL". He brings alot more to this board than you can ever dream of doing. Go back and watch Hurd's body language on the bench. He wouldn't even voted a team captain. I hate this as much as anyone and it kills me to see him leave but I can't argue with Vfl34 on this.

I was calling B.S. on his comment that seemed to communicate that he agreed about HURD BEING SOFT...

Hurd has taken a BEATING as he has borne the lion's share of the load at the RB position...and even VFL34 said in a thread how much better as a RB Hurd was than Alabama's HENRY....And now he says that HURD IS SOFT??? B.S....

And I honestly don't give a rat's butt about credibility on this site....HONESTLY--some of the most intelligent posts on here have come from fans of other teams--like 99gator to name one!!

Learn the difference between comments made about someone's physical abilities and their attitude. Both of his statements were true. Hurd could have been a better back than Kamara, but he chose to be a pu$$ie instead. Big difference. Learn it.

Hurd is soft = he can't handle not being the center of attention and he quits when there is adversity. That's different than soft=not physical. Why don't you get it?

I took Mike questioning the comment of being soft being in reference to how he played the game. I was just letting him know it in reference to his attitude, not his playing ability.

I can't speak for VFL34 or what he means by his comments about what Tee said.

BUT, I do agree that Hurd is soft as evidenced by quitting. Whatever happened to putting your head down and working harder? How could he give up on his team?

He was 4 games/440 yards away from being the best back maybe ever at UT. A real man would have done what it takes and not run in the face of adversity. A real man would have finished the season and not made himself look like a giant baby.

I heard from a close friend of Hurd that he is battling some injuries. Most likely he is just going to heal up the rest of the season regardless.

I also heard from a relative of Butch that the locker room is doing better now.

reading comprehension? :loco:

He said Tee's comments about being soft were not his running ability or physical ability...it's his attitude, mentality, outlook toward himself and others.

No one has ever said he was soft running the ball..until this year anyway.

FYI...It would be wise to read the comments before posting something like that and looking illiterate.

No. Tee made those remarks regarding hurds demeanor and personality. I stand by them

Travis this is just not correct.
This is you trying to stand by your Vol heritage and rally the horses.

I know you and other former Vols don't want to give any real steam to "new regime" talk. And rightfully so.

But how many times has Jalen bareld over a defender for 1st down?
How many times did he push piles 4 yards after contact??
We don't go to a bowl game if Jalen doesn't make that amazing play against South Carolina as a freshman.

Jalen was one of the biggest reasons for the turnaround.
Yes you feel betrayed, but think about the abuse he has taken... think about all these other offensive players that have left the program.

He did the right thing.
And as a former Vol running back from the state of Tennessee, maybe you should think about how you just described him...

You are right about John Kelly. He will shine.

But Jalen was 446 yards away from being the All-time rushing leader at Tennessee. How could anyone truly call him soft?

I don't understand how you and MikeVol44 don't understand that mentally soft is NOT the same thing as physically soft. No one questions or denies Hurd's physical toughness, but it seems to be pretty clear from multiple sources that Hurd has attitude issues and desires to be the center of attention. This is not the same thing as calling him soft on the football field.

I cannot understand why people do not get this.

Holy cow the amount of stupid in this thread... Mouth breathers need to learn the difference between mental and physical softness. Moving a pile or making a few plays in games does not mean someone can't have the mental makeup of a pu$$&& and be soft when it comes to life/game adversity. It's clear that he is factually soft and a quitter.

Beat me to it. It because they are those types that are thinking of the next thing they are going to say while they are "listening" to someone speak. Know it all that wants to be contrary to everything despite all the facts saying the opposite.

Well, in all honesty, I was angry at the time....

I truly confess that a better approach on my part would have been to ask 34 exactly what he meant by his comment.

However, he said that we should remember what Tee Martin said about HURD...

And Martin said that Hurd was too soft to play RB in D1 football if memory serves...and I do remember a buch of folks on VOLNATION taking Martin to task after making that comment concerning HURD...

Therefore, I took 34 as agreeing with Martin about HURD being too soft.....and I honestly couldn't believe what I read coming from 34...who last year took great PAINS to explain to everyone on here just how and why HURD was a MUCH BETTER back than Derrick Henry from Alabama....

Maybe some of you more intelligent and tech-savvy guys on here could do some research and find that thread from last year.....I think it was before the Alabama--LSU game....

Now--a great deal of you are saying that 34 meant that HURD's being soft means that he whines and quits when he doesn't get his way....

And that's straight B.S., too!!!

I realize that this is a stretch for most of you here on Volnation, but use your brain for just a moment....

There has been NO lack of consensus on here in the early parts of the season that HURD would turn pro after this year. He would leave UT as the career Rushing leader,, and would have an outstanding NFL career. Even 34 in his thread last year said so--BUT NOW HURD is too soft to make it as a RB in the NFL??? B.S.

Furthermore....let me ask you a question:

If UT had beaten USCe--and HURD would have still announced his decision to transfer/I]-

----EVERY SINGLE ONE of you would be SCREAMING that something was wrong with CBJ/Debord for not better utilizing HURD in this offense....and driving him to leave....

But since we LOST--there has to be a SCAPEGOAT to draw ATTENTION away from that miserably pathetic game plan that took 2 weeks to develop by CBJ and Debord.....Not one reporter in today's or Saturday's press conference questioned Jones about the pathetic game plan....NOT ONE!

Now--it's all Jalen's fault because he has a bad attitude and is a CANCER on the team....BUT NOW that he is gone--all is well.....So let's all jump on the bandwagon to blame HURD for this season's slump to 5-3....

Look at the FACTS--

HURD hasn't fumbled away a game this year
HURD hasn't thrown umpteen interceptions this year
HURD hasn't missed tackle after tackle and blown assignments on DEFENSE this year

HURD didn't even play against aTm--and we had 7 TURNOVERS that cost us the game...Kamara, Kelly, Dobbs, et. al....all gave that game away and HURD didn't have ONE THING TO DO WITH IT....

So--YES--I'm crying B.S. on EVERYONE who is now crapping all over HURD.....

And by the way--I called HURD's FUMBLE against UGA inexcusable and idiotic--and that he should've been benched for that play....

All things considered--you can flame away on me as being angry, menstruating, needing a snickers, crazy, and unreasonable......but I stand behind every statement I've made in SUPPORT of JALEN HURD!

And for the record--NO--I don't like the fact that he is quitting and transferring out of this program....I do think it is an immature way to leave.....

But--although inexcusable on Hurd's part--I find it hard to believe that CBJ didn't LIE TO JALEN before the Northwestern Bowl game last year and promise to implement the I or off-set I formation into the offense for this season...

The JURY is STILL OUT on whether CBJ is good enough to get us into the SEC championship game in Atlanta-- And our troubles in the SEC are still NOT OVER WITH THIS CURRENT COACHING STAFF.

When MUSCHAMP can OUT-COACH you with the level of talent he has right now at USCe--you be in TROUBLE!

GO VOLS!

TL;DR the rest of the post

No. If you had just taken a deep breath, and read 2-3 more pages of posts before being reactionary you would have seen VFL34 said several times that he was speaking about his mental toughness. Instead, you just created a post flaming one of the most respected posters on this board.

Just take a chill pill and think before you make an angry comment.
