Tee Martin speaks on changes

He will never be an NFL coach I'm sorry but he is not smart enough, He couldn't even get the South Alabama Job give me a damn break
Do you personally know Tee ? Just curious how you know he's not smart enough.... Tennessee grad and national champion quarterback who played in NFL. I want him to succeed. More of a VOL for life than 99% of folks on this board.

He heard it from the same guy who told him we were hiring Gruden.

DC at FSU, UGA, and Bama. 5 national championships and highly regarded. Trust me he was more qualified....and not because he's white.

As a coordinator, you can be apart of great staffs. But, when its your turn to lead as a HC, you may not be cut out to lead. Also, a staff member may be given a HC position and excel, then again may fail. So, it isn't based off of what you necessarily been part of, but your established philosophy on how to run your own program. Fleck is doing great. Never been a coordinator. Herm Edwards when he took over at ASU. Dabo can be said the same. So, the old adage of starting as a GA, the position coach, then coordinator on to HC is a way if the past. Leaders lead.

Didn’t Tee turn UT down when they tried to interview him last time when he was Co OC at USC and he declined because his wife was an aspiring singer and wanted to stay in LA..... so he can turn us down in our time of need but now that is convenient for him.... hand him the job.. sure Tee, sound logic. Goes both ways brother

There is actually something wrong with him wanting to be interviewed, there is zero way anyone on pruitts staff was getting the job. What if something gets uncovered later by the ncaa on Martin cheating as well? Tennessee was going to start with a clean slate. It’s absolute BS that some morons think this is related to racism when two of our top candidates were black and were offered the guy, hell Franklin was offered it twice.

Tee was never going to get offered bc 1)he doesn’t have the experience that every other person offered the job does & 2)he was part of the staff that landed us in hot water with the NCAA. Most of the people complaining don’t give a damn that he’s black, they care that he’s a former Vol.
So why has he NEVER been interviewed, though applied?

The whole staff is BLOWN OUT, it’s a moot point what PF, him and any of his sheep think or “feel”. Get over it already and get to work and opportunity will happen! Unless one doesn’t want to work as needed for advancement and rest on their laurels as their head coach taught them through example and blame others for their shortcomings!

I'm afraid a lot of the top talent out there don't care as much about rings as they do exposure. That weren't even alive when he won that and it doesn't mean that much to them, they want to know what have you done lately. It is all about exposure and playing in the NFL, unfortunately they don't understand that less than 2% of NCAA players ever get a chance to play in the League. They would be much better served thinking about what they want to do when and if they graduate.

Yes, I agree with you, especially on focusing career, not in pro sports. That is the saddest thing about paying players. It perpetuates this idea that the education they are recieving isn't worth much. In fact, over time the education is the most valuable thing s football player gets.

The shiny stuff that Tee can talk about is just icing on the cake. Obviously, it dosen't attract 5 stars across the board like coaches that have got guys big contracts in the NFL.

correct!

some of these jokes couldn't figure this out and how i was able to call them out. Tee is just ambitious and folk are hating. There's only one reason you hate another man's ambitions. You hate him. Now, why comes into play. You dont know him personally and hes done nothing to disrespect you, himself, the school, etc. so what is left?

Cause he's using his voice. He speaks his mind. He didn't condone Pruitt destroying the University that he loves. People don't like when some speak who they feel shouldn't speak. He's not Graham. He didn't leave to go work for the enemy, but some see nothing wrong with that. Coaching move and looking out for himself I guess. But, Tee is garbage, can't coach, never done anything since he's been here, but JuJu, Robert Woods, Marquise Lee (Biletnikoff Winner), Agholor, Vaughns '17 and St. Brown '18 were the #2 ranked WR by 247 that he recruited to USC. Call away seems to be doing good for the Saints. Palmer has had a showing at the Senior Bowl. But, I guess none of the We'd mentioned had anything to do with Tee coaching them. How many Bilentnikoff winners has UT had? The hate, disdain, or whatever you want to call it is ridiculous. It's easy to say someone is a bad coach, but where's your proof in that. I've stated facts. No ones stating why he's not a good coach.

That’s not what was asked though. He said what made Pruitt more qualified. Coordinator experience at a high level has typically led to them getting a chance as head coach.

Well, Tee had two years of OC. It is typical yes, but many others who haven't had that experience became successful. Herm Edwards at ASU, Fleck, Dabo to name a few. On the other hand, there's more that have been coordinators that failed miserably. A lot of times it's just the character of the coach. His tutors, and those who helped him form his own philosophies.

His interview was a courtesy from Fulmer. He was never going to be looked at for HC at UT. He wasn't offered a position coach job. Had nothing to do with his wife. Rumors don't become fact because it gets repeated.

Wish there was a love button for this post!!!! I am with you where is the proof Tee sucks as a WR coach.

Palmer didn’t just show up at the senior bowl and all of the sudden develop skills.

Coaching receivers is not particularly difficult and actually the main point in all of this is that Tee Martin is falling downward as a coach, he has not been advancing up the tree, probably because of his entitled attitude, arrogance and lack of work ethic to excel and advance! If he’s all that and a bag of donuts why didn’t he do what Dion Sanders did and go to a smaller school as HC to work his way up?

I would love for Tee to stay if he's 100% invested. He could be a great ambassador. But if he's not willing to buy in then it's best that he move on.
There isn’t a Condredge Holloway or whatever Fulmer was doing before the AD gig to my knowledge. It’s up to Heupel whether he feels Tee could teach his system better than Burns.

Disagree with you on the difficulty level coaching receivers. We had this one guy...name of Kevin Beard?

I hope Tee stays, great QB and I will always love what he brought to the field, hopefully keeps getting better as a coach and helps UT!

I agree 100% that its Heupel's decision. I'm just saying if he's asked to stay he needs to look i side and know he's buying in 100%. If he can't, then go.

Maybe you missed my post earlier:

and yes I’m referring specifically to Fulmer and Martin.

Yeah you’re the one making up facts to fit your narrative. When he was co OC at USC he most certainly turned down UT and cited being happy in LA and his wife’s budding music career. Also it took 5 seconds to google you lazy piece of Dog Shi.😂 Tee Martin denies Vols, reportedly

And where was all this “he isn’t smart enough” crap back then? As a matter of fact, he was talked down on for not accepting the interview. I don’t recall none of this he needs to be an OC and every other reasoning we are hearing now.

He is plenty intelligent enough for the job. But I’ll be honest I’m glad he didn’t take it or get the HC job here. I don’t want his legacy ruined by what our fans would do and say if he could not get the ship righted. Like Fulmer did to his legacy coming back and boggling stuff left and right as the AD.

I understand that and as we have witnessed, fans will turn quickly.
