Tee Martin question

Why was Chip considered a bad fit in the SEC because he is a west Coast guy, but Tee is not considered exactly the same. He is OC for THE WEST COAST TEAM. But naturally he would be great at TN because he played here as QB.

Smart was a seasoned coordinator with 9 years experience as a coordinator under Saban. If folks can't understand the difference between someone who is in second year as OC - I don't know what to tell you.

Saban doesn't have a DC really. He has a glorified assistant. The defense is his baby and he runs it. Kirby wasn't drawing up the defenses or doing the planning, Saban was.

Tee is just as qualified as Smart was.

He probably understands the sec and UT traditions. All chip experienced was whipping on UT's last two goofballs and losing in title games. I would of enjoyed kelly as a coach too by the way.

How much time has Tee spent as a coach in the SEC?
How many years was he the QB at TN?
Serious question. Not being a smart @$$

I fully agree. My biased opinion is based on the sole fact the only time in my life that I had season tickets was because of my dad and it was the 98 99 seasons. I am not all knowing, yet sometimes I pretend to know more than others. However I trust him, like many trust their hero's, I am just curious on how he truly has done. I'm not gonna lie, I was sour on him for a minute because he denied a lateral jump for butch, but in hindsight I can see his reasoning. I totally dig the miles coach in waiting scenario. That's why I am curious of his oc prowess.

He would need a damn good staff. But he needs to pick it himself. And to be honest, that is why I don't think he really wants to come here. The toughest place to pick your first staff ever is your alma mater.

So while coach in waiting might help it out, I am not sure he is ready to leave the west coast. Or should I say his wife isn't. If Toya is still an active recording artist, it is doubtful she will want to leave LA.

So you can't differentiate between a West coast guy and one coaches a team on the wc? Two completely different things.

Tee was the wide receivers coach at Kentucky for Joker Phillips. Not sure how long before he ended up at USC.

He was Manning's backup until his junior year. So he started two. Winning a national championship that first year.

2 at Kentucky (QB and then WR coach)
2 seasons starting at Tennessee

All his other coaching time has been primarily at USC.

As much as it would be cool to get the band back together again, do we really think Tee is ready to be a head coach?
