Tee Martin play calling responsibility

I believe he was calling the plays and their offense was very stagnant. Fans don’t have a lot positive to say about his play calling ability. I think this is why he don’t call all plays... so you have a coordinator who doesn’t call plays of course you would endorse him, to get rid of him. (like USC did)

So yea its a lie. Google any of the articles form this season and they will talk about Tee calling the plays. I have repeatedly said that yes, in his first year that was the arrangement.

Not this year. Tee calls the plays. And guess what? They got better.

Stop spreading stuff from his first year and acting like nothing has changed. Its a false narrative some of you want to push for some reason.

Yet you still can't prove it. There's a reason Clay Helton, who was OC prior to getting the job, still carries a playchart.

Keep on keeping on.

Wolf: USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin accepts criticism – Daily News

The issue surrounding the program right now is whether Martin is the only one who deserves the blame? Martin, quarterbacks coach Tyson Helton and Clay Helton all participate in calling plays, according to sources.

Clay Helton was evasive when asked this week about Martin. Asked about criticism directed at his offensive coordinator, Helton said, “I think Tee Martin has done a wonderful job.”

Asked if Martin is the only one calling plays, Helton said, “I think Tee Martin is doing a wonderful job.”

This article is from October of this year, you sound like the one pushing an agenda.

Do we want to base our coaching hire on a complete anomaly among successful head coaches? Name for me one other position coach —> head coach move that’s resulted in half the success Swinney’s had at Clempson. (Yes, I know he was associate head coach, or whatever title)

Fulmer?

Interesting, but innacurate. I just read an article from October of this year that says Helton, his brother Tyson (QB coach) Tee all call plays. I saw Helton call 2 plays in the third quarter the other night.

So "sources" say that the two others have input. So what? Tee calls the plays. Most hc have input on big downs. Tee is still setting the gameplan and calling 90% of the plays with some input from the Heltons. It is his playcalling that won them their conference championship.

Sources? Better than the hearsay you're spilling to drive an agenda. Look I love Tee Martin but we have seen what learning on the job gets you in the SEC and it doesn't end well. I don't want that for any VFL, do you?

Yea it gets you in the playoffs. You really think that Kirby was calling all the plays under Saban?

No. But he was a young coach who can pull in recruits and hire experienced coaches. That is what Tee would do.

No, but you left out that Helton had no input on playcalling when he was OC under Sark. Chow and Carroll split duties, as did Kiffin and Sark under Carroll.

It seems to be a system with all coaches under Carroll at USC since they are all from his coaching tree.

Has tee taken some shots from media? Sure, most OCs do in their tenures. But it’s gone to belittling Tee’s coaching and everything else about him when it’s not that rare, especially at USC.

He wasn’t. Saban has as much input as Smart in defensive play calling. Always been that way.

Actually Kirby was calling the plays on defense. That has been proven true quite a bit over his time with Saban at Bama.

Also, why are you deflecting the fact that you got called out for lying about Tee's OC duties/playcalling?

Don’t have an agenda, but clearly you do. I stated facts, you spewed unvalidated opinion. You need to brush up on your reading comprehension as well.

I believe Tee could recruit well here and maybe if were surrounded by a giant staff could succeed but I worry about how patient this fan base would be with him.

Tee calls the plays. He called their 4th down plays for sure. He gets some input but he calls most plays. Nothing from this year says he doesn't call third downs. Just that the Heltons have some input. So . . .

And its known that Saban is pretty much the dc no matter what placeholder they have in the spot.

Kirby and Tee come from very similar situations apprently.

Yet, you can't prove that Tee calls the plays everytime even though there are articles from last season and this season that says he doesn't.
