With all do respect Tee had one helluva supporting cast around him....I just don't think he's coaching material, he would be a great pregame speaker for younger players though.

T is a great guy....but, not ready for the QB job in the SEC.

why not? he won a national title in the sec! i think he might know a little bit more than what you do.

I have seen him coach and run his QB camps here in ATL.
But hey, I am the stupid one.

kind of like the people that say "hire Al Wilson to coach line backers". "He played, so he MUST be able to coach"!
First of all, he was an SEC qb so maybe your first post was a typo. I don't really know how educated your evaluation skills are regarding qb coaching so I will defer. I don't know how much coaching Al has done but I have heard Tee has done quite a bit of coaching of qbs. That's all I'm saying.

i know that. they hired him as the quarterbacks coach right? well your saying he cant coach the quaterbacks in the SEC! or he isnt ready to be a coach. im saying since he played the position, won a national title, why cant he coach?

Well, he is going to have one of the best in the business to lead him. None other that Randy Sanders. THAT will be a big help.
Very few of the really good players make good coaches. I am not saying that he will not be a good coach one day. I am saying that I have seen himwork with QBs and he brings NOTHING special to the table. Now, he was in New Mexico all last year, so that could have changed.....NOT.

i left out the word coaching....you knew what I was saying
Disagree with me all you want, that is fine. RS is the only reason he is at UK now. RS is from the Fulmer coaching school. NEVER hire someone that will take YOUR job.

Guys, going to KY is a great thing. The people in KY are happy to have him, he can cut his teeth in the SEC, if he fails atleast he is not at TN, if he is great he can come to TN in a couple years.

What is RS going to be doing now, did he get promoted to OC or something?

He is the OC....also listed as the QB coach.....they also already have the full 9 coaches on staff.....is Tee going to be a GA or has one of the other offensive coaches left the staff?

I remember reading somewhere that the O-line had to call blitz protection because for Tee cause he couldn't do it. I don't think I want that guy coaching my qb if he couldn't fully read a defense.

Tee has worked the Elite 11 IIRC, and he's also going to be in charge of the Elite 11 Dual Threat program when it starts in the next couple years.

He may not be completely ready for a big time job, but he's at least decent.

:popcorn:how old is Tee about 34 and couldn't coach QB'. He would be great and so would Al Wilson as LB coach. And both would be tremendous recruiters. Good discussion.

Who is the coach from the broncos last year that the prior staff was considering bringing on? I believe he had ties to the university.

Coached a young guy named Drew Brees while at Purdue.

Don't forget about Kyle Orton.... And I know Reaves was the "QB coach" last year, but with Chaney as OC look at how much Crompton improved. It was like watching a magic trick. When Chaney was at St. Louis(prior to his arrival, they were a heavy passing team, ie. Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Tory Holt) he altered his gameplan, and Stephen Jackson became one of the top 3 rb's in the league. When Chaney was at Purdue, they were a COMPLETELY different team, leading the nation in passing at times. Look at both of those teams since Chaney left... I don't know if his departure was directly related to the decline of those programs, but it makes ya think. I hope he stays around for a while, because Tyler Bray has the potential to be Knoxville royalty.

I knew KY hired Tee as a QB coach, so what did they do with Sanders? Did he get promoted to OC? I haven't heard.
