Tee Martin is not happy...

He just “liked” this tweet, but has since unliked it. It showed up in my feed since I follow him. If you go to his likes now, it’s not there.

Honestly, screw Tee if he's gonna act bitter. He's had ample opportunities to come back to Tennessee. Fact is, he just doesn't have the resume to justify offering him the head coaching gig. He doesn't even have the keys to call all of the plays at USC.

This is not about Tennessee or Alabama ties, it's about Tee not having the experience right now. I love Tee, but he has only been an OC for two years. Pruitt has been one of the top DCs in the country for years. He has consistently had great defense's with numerous teams. Plus he has three national championships, two as DB coach at Alabama. He just has the better resume with a lot more experience right now. However, I was really hoping he'd join Pruitt at Tennessee as OC.

He has 4 national championship rings.
3 at bammer
1 at Florida St.

Said before, Tee is literally the only coach I would be ok with rolling the dice on, and yes that is solely based on what he did for UT. I wish there could have been a spot for him here.

There isn't a single person here who would consider Tee even a top 30 candidate if he didn't go here. Hiring underqualified cronies probably won't win you championships.

This is exactly right Same with Steele , TN guy but he won 9 games in 4 years as HC at Baylor.
I’d rather have Pruitt over both UT guys

Who cares. He had his chance and his wife didn’t allow it. I think he’s happy deep down because he doesn’t have to deal with it again.

His wife didn't want to leave LA so it would not have been a good hire . Like they say " happy wife, happy life". We made a better hire with Pruitt anyway.

Which idiot keeps saying Tee is in play for the Oregon job? No place and no where is ANYONE even mentioning Tee for Oregon. That is such a joke.

I read somewhere that Tee made some negative comments about UT or someone still at UT in 2000 while he was with the Steelers. Anybody got any idea what that is about?

What exactly is going on between Tee and UT? Tee apparently has had several opportunities to come to Tennessee and it hasn't happened. A lot is made of his wife and her desire to stay in LA, but Tee was at Kentucky and New Mexico before ending up at USC, so I think there's more to it than that. Does he have some kind of long-standing beef with UT?

If he doesn't want to come here, then I don't want him.

Tee would love to be here, but it has to be the right fit. He’s never spoken poorly about Tennessee, and tried to get a job here multiple times during the 2000s. Some of the negative could be construed from the time when Bama tried to dig up some dirt on him, which nothing came of. If I remember, it had to do with being given money for car repairs, totaling about $1000.

In 2010 and 2011, Dooley refused to hire Tee when he wanted a job. He had trouble getting on as a GA in 2006. In 2012, Tee didn’t get the right vibes when he met with Butch. Could you blame him? People don’t bash Jay Graham for leaving for a lateral move to FSU. People don’t bash Antone Davis for quitting and calling out Butch. Tee didn’t feel it would work, and thought it was a publicity stunt by Butch.

He’s gotten a lot of support from Vol fans through this and greatly appreciates it. There’s been a vocal minority who have used it to bash him- whatever...

I truly love Tee as a VFL....But TN is not in a spot where we can afford to gamble. We had to go after the best guy possible. Tee just isn't ready for this job.

THAts bs. Pruitt success at good programs have benefited him. He is good but tee probably need to start out at a lower conference.
