Tee Martin is not happy...

I would love to have Tee come back but in this case Pruitt is the better hire.
He has more SEC experience than Tee and he is a defense oriented coach. Both items we need desperately. I will be watching to see what kind of staff JP puts together. That will be key to his success.

I don’t like kiffin either. Pruitt has more success as a coordinator than Tee. If Tee wants to be the HC of the Vols one day then he needs to get a better resume than what he has.

Im not even mad at the hire, buts That's bull**** to think T Martin don't have the resume!! T Martin been coaching for a long time and has develop good football players.. He just coached up a top 5 pick in Darnold and not only that look at all the great wr's he's coached that's in the NFL. Damn so what makes u be a qualified head coach? How much experience that coach out of OU had when he was hired? I don't even think the administration wanted to hire him anyway. Former players wanted him more than anything.

Everyone come together so we can hire 100% bama gump. Disgusting.

Your post is disgusting. We are getting a new staff and fans need to give the new guys a chance before you start blasting them. I guess some just need to stir the pot before the stove is installed. Grow up.

Tee needs to coach at a smaller college school get his feet wet.I would want to be ready before I took a big coaching job. You have one shoot in most cases to be successful at a big school coaching football. You don't want to get a top coaching job to find out your not ready, and your lack of experience is exposed to the sporting world.Tee should be thanking Flumer, this may be a blessing.

I see the point. Pruitt has a batter resume but he’s just as much of a risk. I’d still rather hire Tee. Come together? How about come together with your own?

Ive said this before on another thread. I love Tee Martin as a player for Tennessee. He led us to the NC. However, I've seen nothing on his resume that says he deserves to be the HC at Tennessee. It's my understanding that he's not even the primary play caller at USC. This doesn't mean that he eventually won't be a great head coach. But it's my opinion he's not there yet.

Other than being a graduate of UT and being our NC QB, what qualifications does he have to jump to HC after being an OC for just a couple of years and supposedly not even calling his own plays at USC? He would be a distraction and constantly conflicted with that wife of his. UT doesn't need "The Tee's Wives Of Our Lives" happening everyday.

Two years as a coordinator and you expect to get the HC job at a major school? Sorry, but no.

I kept saying that I'd be surprised if Tee is the OC at USC in 2018. I think Helton wants his son in that role. It wasn't UT fans that wrote the article that started this play calling thing.

Don't do T Martin like that this man has been coaching for some good time now worked at New Mexico, Kentucky, USC since 2012. What experience Lincoln Riley had out of OU? He only 35 years old

Agreed. Tee’s upside is huge and there are other guys that haven’t been given the opportunity with equal experience. What’s done is done.

This is not about Tennessee or Alabama ties, it's about Tee not having the experience right now. I love Tee, but he has only been an OC for two years. Pruitt has been one of the top DCs in the country for years. He has consistently had great defense's with numerous teams. Plus he has three national championships, two as DB coach at Alabama. He just has the better resume with a lot more experience right now. However, I was really hoping he'd join Pruitt at Tennessee as OC.

don't try to talk common sense to these folks, you might get tarred and feathered

That would not be a good move for Tee at this time. If he really wants to become the next head coach at Tennessee he needs to get some more experience and even possibly get a lower tier job and show success. One thing to think of is if this hire does not work out, Tee would not be promoted from within.

Does anybody have any info on how Tee’s wife’s career is going in Hollywood? Maybe they realize the money and dreams are going to come from Tee’s paycheck and not hers. Maybe he gets a chance later in life but not now.

There isn't a single person here who would consider Tee even a top 30 candidate if he didn't go here. Hiring underqualified cronies probably won't win you championships.

Still better than an untrustworthy gump.

Foxes guarding the hen house.

You can't make up for not hiring one of our own, but hopefully Fulmer does not eat crow on this pick. I'm optimistic and feel this is a good hire, but would have been ecstatic if Tee would have been the guy.

We are a lower tier job.

Tee is not a head coach. Tee is not an offensive coordinator. Helton's brother is. Helton has tried everything to get Tee a job to get rid of him. South Alabama said no. Georgia Southern said no. He just is not that kind of coach. Sorry. Move on. Let him live in your memory of that great night in Phoenix when the Vols where in their greatest run in school history.

I saw the same thing on Twitter. Bad look.

You want a Bad Look........hire him as a Head Coach. He lost out at GA Southern HC job. He doesn't even call all the plays......HC wants him to go, so he can put his brother in as OC. Tee needs to start small, prove himself and get to UT level. NO WAY he is HC material today.
