Tee Martin has decided to stay in Lexington

he might tell you something different, I can't say if he will or not. I have a friend that has been checking with him daily since Baggett left and that is what he said to him yesterday, still no call. I don't talk to Tee so maybe you can read him better than my friend.

My point was if Tee in fact said he'd been contacted then there's no doubt he was. I don't know if he was or not. But Tee is a solid guy and wouldn't just say this kind of stuff.

I wouldn't dispute what you say about Tee's charactor at all..

Why would any assistant really want to come here right now? Odds are your going to be one and done, if Dooley gets the boot next year then odds are the new coach would come in and clean house.

No way you fire a former player and NC winner

Tee has given more to UT than any of you jock sniffers.
He is better staying in KY till a big opportunity comes his way. Good luck always to Tee Martin.

I didn't think so at all. And I wasn't disputing you either. I don't know if Tee said it or not. My point all along was that if Tee in fact said he was contacted then I have no doubt he was.

Let's look at this with some common sense. Why stay in Kentucky, when Joker is possibly one game away from getting fired?? Kentucky is not a job with more security, period.

Ok, I'll pose this question to you, why is it that coaches will say they haven't been contacted, when they actually have?? Do you think that by Tee saying he had been contacted by whatever outlet reported it, that he might have just be lobbying for the job or more money in his current position?? Lots of ways of looking at it really.

I was knocking you, based solely on your previous posting history. I don't believe you, but that's just me. I know you don't care either way, but that's my position on it.

You don't believe me? Oh no I hope I can sleep! Reality bothers many on this site.

Reality?? What in the world are you talking about?? I haven't read anywhere that Tee was contacted formally or informally to turn down a position that he was never informally or formally offered. That's the reality of this whole thing.

Well for starters, that's not the actions you typically see from asst. Some Coodinators do this but what you're speaking of is usually done by head coaches. Asst are to easily fired.

Assistants leverage whatever they can leverage to gain security, that's part of the coaching game.

He must be getting all his info from those who keep saying no one else would take the job. He then observes that Tee Martin is a person, and wonders if we also know that.

Tee would be making a bad move to take a lateral move from Joker's staff to Dooley's. Joker just earned a few more years by breaking a long-standing streak while Dooley may have only one remaining.

If we think it was hard to recruit a HFC when we got Dooley, I can't imagine his challenge in recruiting quality assistant coaches at reasonable salaries this year.

That's a good point and I can understand that.

Thanks for an actual response as opposed to throwing out insults. It seems some people are still very sensitive.

If you knew anything about Tee Martin, you'd know he wasn't a serious candidate for the head coaching job at UT or any other Div I program actually.

It would be easy enough from reading some of the posts here to conclude that we couldn't hire a decent coach if we wanted one. That makes yours as logical of a question as most.

But, the reality is... UT football is not as bad of a gig as some here make it sound. Although, with our previous AD, it might have been pretty crappy way to consider spending your career.

He made CPF look like a total arse (some feel he was and we all know he wasn't perfect). But that did nothing positive for the program and nothing to inspire others to devote time to it. Although it may have been time for Fulmer to go, the man gave his life to UT football and didn't deserve that exit treatment from an AD.

I agree totally !

 ...sure, KY beat us. I wouldn't exactly say because of it they are "on the rise." They got as at our worst and lowest point, and it was their only chance. God job to them, but they are by no means going to keep it up.
