Tee Martin give shoutout to Tennessee fans after USC win

Yes, I watched them have a top ten offense while having a #81 defense. With this weak defense, they still won 11 games and a P5 conference championship

Well, actually 27th in scoring (34.5 ppg), which is slightly worse than we were last year. Not saying your basic premise isn't right, just that the numbers aren't.

Until he publicly says "no", then yes. He's dropped plenty of hints, and his cameo appearances in Knoxville were likely more than just coincidence. If he wanted to lay low, he knows how.

I think he gets a call from Coach Fulmer, and we'll know a lot more about "who's who" by close of business on Monday.

I also think Clay Travis, at times, is worth listening to...and this is one of those times.

Go Vols.

Gruden loves the attention, he will most likely never say 'I'm not going to coach at UT'.

Exactly. I remember the Arkie game. Phil took the ball out of Tee's hands (Couldn't hit the barn) and gave it to the OLINE & Travis Henry.

Yeah and I remember the 1999 UGA ND Alabama streak where Tee was responsible for 70% of our offense with his arm and legs (and yes, the 70% is accurate I went back and watched the games).

I remember the last Tennessee QB to be first team all Sec QB til Dobbs got here.

That intersection near the stadium would suddenly have new meaning...

I feel the risk is worth the potential reward that is offered by bringing home a rising coaching prospect who has a wonderful history with our University. Also don't underestimate the value of unifying our fan base.

If we want the USC offense then maybe Tee should bring the QB with him. Don’t forget that USC has the top NFL prospect. Not sure how much of that was there out of HS and how much Tee helped develop.

Darneld looks like Dormady 2.0

Besides the not having experience (which everyone knows is his weakness in reason to hire him as Head coach), he did not want to come here as O.C. when given chance before. Now, maybe that was timing and or the people that were in charge here he did not trust I don't know. Just find it a little discouraging that the only time he appears to want to "come home" is if offered the head coach position, which no other team as yet to do. So that makes yet another concern (that no other team as offered).

Having said that, I could see him doing well here, because of his personality and friendships he has made. I myself would rather have a proven coach like Peterson or Patterson. Just my opinion though.

As I just posted on another thread, Tee interviewed for the Georgia Southern job and was not hired for it...You really want someone who can't get a HC job at little GSU?....Damn, Some of you scare me.

Why not?

After the madness of this past week its possible. We basically had the Haslams using this search as a tool to wield their power. Maybe now with Fulmer at the lead actually trying to land the best coach possible rather than a stooge, there's a chance.

I would personally be happy with either Gruden or Tee as head coach. Both are home run hires IMO.

plan A..plan B..

If they decide to roll the dice and take a chance on a young up and coming coach, it should be Tee.

With CPF in charge on the hill, Tee will have more support than anyone else. I think Phil will look at Tee like he would his own son and give the very best advice when asked and pointers when he doesn't. Tee can make his own football decisions, it's the administrative part where CFP will be a major asset. The one thing BJ did leave us with is a good program with regards to academics and other organized programs. Tennessee paid big money for this and they should keep what is clearly working. Bring back Antone Davis and other qualified Vols to take care of the ancillary programs so, Tee can focus his main task of developing a championship team. I have no doubt that when the top two guys have the same vision, understand each other, and understand the fan base, the end result will be absolutely remarkable.

Bringing Phil back simply feels right. Hearing him talk again, in an instant, brought back the feelings of having a direction. He's one of us and I think we had lost that feeling of a true Tennessee family. Tee is one of us and hiring him will feel right. Hire a good supporting staff of coaches and he'll be successful.

In Phil we trust. Go Vols.

Yes. 2016 247 Recruiter of the Year and 2017 Frank Broyles Award nominee. It's not like this is just some nostalgic notion.
