Tee Martin and Jeff Brohm Contacted per GRIDIRON NOW

We weren’t getting a “name” coach to begin with. Closest one was Mullen and he never met with us, only his rep...was only waiting us out to see what happened with a Florida and when it came open he jumped.

I personally don’t care about a “name coach” at Tennessee. Just get me a good, solid, high character coach who can manage a game and recruit his ass off. There are plenty of guys like that out there imho.

I’d take Cut or Tee and be thrilled. Brohm if neither of them would come here.

Completely agree

That article says less than 24 hours ago, Currie was informed of Schiano’s past at Penn State...What did his research into the coaching options consist of!? I knew about it days (if not more) ago from hanging out on a fan forum!

Currie said that they read the Freeh Report, that Freeh's investigators never questioned Schiano. Currie claimed he did not know about the report which linked Schiano as a witness. Could be interpreted that he liked Schiano because Schiano never talked to the investigators, which is literally what happened.

Jeff Brohm's number while coaching at Western Kentucky:

Tee Martin would be a great recruiter and own recruiting in Tennessee. Legacy kids would flock to Tennessee. The risk we take is will Tee be a good head coach. Good recruiter and cannot coach (we have been down that road). Tee flight risk to USC (we have been down that road). Another Jimmy Sexton client (we have been down that road). Both are excellent coaches.

If Tee could surround himself with a GOOD staff and have Fulmer (yes I said Fulmer, his past coach) help guide and mentor him in that position let’s roll

Unfortunately not a single one of them would now come here.... You guys don't seem to get it. It's over on a decent coach, money doesn't matter at this point.

Money ALWAYS matters. Especially to guys who aren't making much.

I realize the easy thing to do when saying a guy can recruit but not coach is point to Butch. But Butch is gone not just because of in game coaching, but also his total lack of leadership and control. The fact that his vaunted 2014 class is basically gone should tell you all you need to know. You can be a bad in game coach if you are successful in all other areas. Butch could recruit, but his player development, player discipline, and overall leadership was poor, to go along with in game decisions.

Tee may not end up being the greatest in game coach, but if he can recruit and develop players, he'll be successful.

* Manning - 4 year starter, 1 SEC championship, (had to luck into it) after losing to our biggest rival Florida 4 straight years, then gets "Peyton Manning Pass" named after him years before Tee gets the same honor and (only then after uprising from fan base).

* Martin - 1 year starter, breaks NCAA record for most consecutive pass completions in one game against USC east, (now holds 2nd place), wins SEC east, wins SEC championship, and National Championship ALL in his one and only year as a starting QB.

Many (if not the majority of UT fans), think Manning is the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. This is how ignorant a portion of our fan base is, and why Chris Fowler's reference as "trailer park trash" fits them to a tee (no pun intended). Many are flat out embarrassing and give the perception all Tennessee fans are uneducated hillbillies.

No Tee please.

Tee started two years at Tennessee.

*Edit - i see that's already been addressed.

You are among the imbeciles who think Peyton's accomplishments in the pros triumph what he did here, when discussing UT! Tennessee is a college moron, compare apples to apples, not apples to oranges idiot!

You can call me an idiot but it still won't make Tee more popular than Manning. Get over it chief, Peyton is a legit celebrity who people outside of Knoxville associate with UT. If that hurts Tee's feelings than oh well.

Who gives a crap whose more famous or a better QB here or in the NFL?

one Has coaching experience at a high profile power 5 school while the other recommended Butch Jones and gave his approval of Schiano.

Who cares what you think? Nobody other than you man. I'm not recommending Peyton be the coach over Tee lol.

Tee will take the job --- but will want big money to deal with all this

Everyone keeps saying this what exactly is he going to have to put up with ? He is not Greg Shiano so their will be no revolt just open minds for at least 2.5 years

We could call the student section the Knoxville "Tee" Party and that's cool enough for me to ok Martin as HC.

Why not Kevin Steele? He has been successful everywhere he's been beside at Baylor which had deep problems at that time. He played here and is well respected. Auburn is getting his expertise now, why not U.T?

So you credit the fans for supporting Martin enough to have an "uprising" to get a street named after him and then claim the fans are ignorant for liking Manning more?

Your remark on the timing of naming the streets is disingenuous as well. Tee Martin Drive was announced in the spring of Tee's senior year after the 1999 season. Peyton Manning Pass was announced in the spring of Manning's senior year after the 1997 season. It was technically years before (two years to be exact), but it was identical timing relative to their respective careers.

Tee also was a two-year starter, and I think both he and Manning are worthy of the honors bestowed upon them. I would love to see Tee back on the hill.
