Tee Martin and Jeff Brohm Contacted per GRIDIRON NOW

For some context regarding Tee Martin, USC's offense currently ranks 10th in total yards, 13th in yards per game, 24th in points, and 26th in points per game.

To me, it sounds like he's a pretty good OC. Whether that translates into being a good HC remains to be seen, but I would be optimistic about this hire.

UT should seriously look at Mike Houston, JMU head coach. While it is true he hasn’t been an FBS coach, he has won conference championships every year he has been a head coach except one, and he won the FCS national championship last year at JMU, and has a good chance of winning it again this year. Their defense is in the top ten in every category, and the offense is in the top 25 in most categories including scoring. This guy can coach. Definitely deserves a look.

You actually believe Tee would step into this mess? His wife wants to stay in LA. He sent his kid to Clemson. The same dunderheads who are howling now are the same ones who scorned Tee when he visited a few years back.

He’s also up for the Broyles Award, which goes to the top assistant coach in the nation. Anybody who says he’s not a good coach is, I’m sorry, an idiot. Whether he has the experience to lead an SEC program is another question, but saying to is an avg or below avg coach is either stupid or biased. Some of these are coming from the same people who spent the last four years bashing Josh Dobbs and calling for his backups.

Tee all the way. Could hire him for less $ and have $ to spend on staff. He's the only one who has been around UT enough to understand craziness of our fan base. Great recruiter. He would take the job. Don't see him making lateral move to be OC under Kiffin. Kiffin since he has an offensive mind may not let Tee do his thing as OC. I seriously doubt if UT will risk another blowup with fan base of bringing back Kiffin.

This is why he will never return.

We should go hard after Bobby Petrino. He will win football games and be on his best behavior. I don't want a choir boy. I just want to win.

Probably need to forget about Kiffin. I think this AD has a grudge against him of some kind because of what happened before. Kiffin is probably the best coach out there right now that would be willing to take the job.

Thought you preaching Gruden to Tennessee?

Damn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

If rumors are correct Tee has been link to several lower head coaching jobs. So it seems he wants to move in the near future to a bigger job. He will not get an offer money wise or opportunity bigger than this anytime soon.

I am not sure if they would offer it to him to be honest (lack of experience). That said given the events yesterday they might have no choice.

That said I have no doubt if they hired Tee Martin the fanbase would move on pretty fast from what happen yesterday.

We just settled a Title IX lawsuit for millions of dollars and you want to go hire a guy that was fired over Title IX issues? Schiano was tainted by association to a scandal; Petrino is a walking talking scandal.

Tee Martin or David Cutcliffe are about the only ones now not named Gruden who can unite this fanbase. Gruden isn't happening, and it is clearly evident that John Currie was never serious about him from the get-go. Thus, as un-flashy of a hire as it would be, they're both VFLs and it makes sense to get someone in here who can win and, at the very least, unite our fanbase. I'm all in for these two at this point, salvage what we have in recruiting, take the beating we're bound to have from the media, take next season with a grain of salt, and get back into our winning ways Big Orange style!

How long until the wife's desire to stay in LA clashes with his upward mobility in the profession? UCLA looks set for the foreseeable future, and he's not leap-frogging Clay Helton for the top spot at USC. At some point, if he wants to be a head coach at a major program, he's going to have to leave LA.

Tee is not even remotely qualified to be Tennessee's head football coach which is why we'll probably F up and hire him for $6 million a year.

I don't know anything about his wife but, I'll bet she is not making anything as a fledgling actress no matter what she wants.

Huh? Let me try to explain it again in simpler terms for you there chief. Stoops and Dabo were both 39 when they were made HC. Tee is 39. My personal feelings are he is as seasoned as they were and therefore is as ready.

My other point is we need as many VFLer's on his staff as possible to help bring us back from this mess. We need to circle the wagons with those that know how to win games here.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of people who turned out to be great coaches got their first HC job in their late 30s, and most of them had never been a head coach anywhere before.

Tee might be a great HC and he might not. At some point in the next few years, someone is going to take the chance and find out. Either way, he's played here, and he's coached, and recruited, in big-time college football for many years now.

If he could come here with the support of the administration--a big if--then after the Schiano debacle, we could have done worse.

And if it works out, then we're set for the next 15 years or so. If not, we'll try again in four or five years.

So what you Tee Martin fans are describing is Mike Norvell exactly but with 2 less years of HC experience.

Norvell's offenses at ASU were off the charts. He recruited off the charts. He's done the same at Memphis. But somehow, he's riskier than taking a coordinator from USC that "recruits well?" I could recruit for USC and sign Top 10 classes. It's an easy sell.
