Tee is staying, per Hyams. Sorry Kiffin.

Hold your horses. Lets get to "if Chaney retires in the next 3-4 years, Tee will be the next OC"

While i hope he one day ends up being the coach, I would have to think that if Phil leaves before that opportunity presents itself, it would come down to Phil's replacement. As long as Pruitt does well here and rebuilds the program to double digit wins per year and competing for SEC Titles, Phil ain't getting touched.

You can be a successful head coach without having been a coordinator. See Dabo Swinney, PJ Fleck, Ed Orgeron, Herm Edwards, Urban Meyer, and Jim Harbaugh - for example. It's also looking like Joe Judge will be a HC soon.

Before his hire, I predicted that was what he was being groomed for. Even if not for UT, that would be his next career arc. He interviewed for the Georgia Southern gig and wasn’t even strongly considered. Really believe Fulmer would have loved to interview him but didn’t want to insult the process. In Knoxville, under Fulmer’s wing, he can begin developing contacts and relationships that will help him in developing staffs, recruiting connections and administrative personnel that are the unseen backbone of a head coaching tenure. Pruitt’s concise plan (including names) in gathering a staff, indicating efficient speed in the process is what wowed Fulmer in the first interview and landed him the job. Kiffin is notorious in recruiting support personnel as well as assistants. When he bolted to USC, Lane wanted to bring a hotshot, superstar admin who was established at UT. She told him no, but he got her on the phone and kept passing it around to different people...including Daddy Monte to sway her...and he did. Telling that story to demonstrate how bought in Tee is at his alma mater. Being a titular OC under Kiffin but not otherwise building his resume for the next step of his career wasn’t sellable.
What is a hotshot superstar admin? Not being demeaning of the position but not sure what you mean...

I realize it’s an SEC Coordinator job, but your boss is Phil Fulmer, your coach when you won a National Title. There is no way you can leave him for for the guy that replaced him and disrespected the job the way he did, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

He could take just about any other job in the country , but Ole Miss under Kiffin is 1, 1A, & 1B of jobs he can’t take.

That's a pretty good point that didn't think of.

Based off what? Lebby was an OC for 1 year in a weak conference, you think he's going to be a miracle worker at Ole Miss? I don't
Agreed. John Rhys Plumlee is a great athlete and could have a breakout season as a sophomore, which would make Lebby look like a genius, but Rich Rod is not an idiot and he wasn't able to get much out of their offense so..... yeah I think Ole Miss fans are going to be a little disappointed when reality hits them in the face.

I'm a bit surprised he turned down an OC offer in the SEC, but it does speak volumes about his comfort and confidence in Pruitt.

If Pruitt ever leaves is Tee the next Head Coach at Tennessee.
If he stays the entire duration i believe he would have earned it. IMO he should learn from Chaney over the next season or so and takeover the OC spot whenever Chaney leaves

I figured Lane would be calling his own plays so his OC is really just gonna be for show and blame.

I think Tee realizes he either leaves on good terms, or he will have forever burned a bridge here. Don't think he's willing to stick his neck out for Kiffin.
