Tee coming home...

Would be great if it did, but I think it's too late of a hire to have an impact as of now.
really hoping Tosh to Cleveland is more than a rumor. that'd be awesome. and would help us with HT, and get Tosh out of hte SEC.

so i saw a blurb somewhere about him possibly joining Kitchens' staff up there, and i haven't gone back to it. dont' want it to be just a rumor. just waiting for some breaking news about him going.... fingers crossed. lol.

The first big mistake of the Pruitt era. Tee had his chance to come here in 2012. The biggest reason was to raise his then young son and be in his life...and coach football at his alma mater....and make great money. He choose against being Dad. That tells us the type of man he is. Don't need a bad person and a fired average coach.

How do you know it’s a mistake?

He hasn’t coached the first man at Tennessee.
If he comes in and lights the world on fire I’m sure you’ll be singing from the mountain tops

Never said that. And the only time I advocated bringing him back was after Schiano Sunday

If that’s the case you write a blank check to Kiffin at his same salary. i mean if that’s your barometer. It also helps Pruitt that he worked with Kiffin.

So win win right?

Obeekaybee. Just a few weeks ago.

Now let's bring back Butch Jones as the janitor and we'll be all set

Nope. Tee was smart to avoid Butch / Dooely, et al. before wasn't the right time for him to come back. It wasn't his fault TN had bad HC's before now.

please don't take it...............

Tee needed a chance to rebuild his image as an assistant. His recruiting prowess is overrated currently, if he can do it here, then I'll believe his "skill". If, and most likely correct, he gets co-oc status, it's simply a contract issue, limiting lateral moves without buyout in a year or two. What it really means? He'll be learning under Chaney, hoping to work towards serious consideration somewhere else. Other than rumors, he was never seriously considered for any job opening at the OC level or above this cycle, expected after being fired for under performance. Hopefully he can become what many of you think he is, and himself. If so, he'll move on somewhere. He isn't coming here to be coach in waiting. Pruitt is young and if successful, hopefully here for 10 plus years. Tee isn't sitting behind Chaney and him for that long. If Pruitt fails, Tee won't be the answer. Pruitt will use him to the benefit of the team and Tee will use Tennessee to the benefit of himself. Which is perfectly fine and the way things go.

Quite frankly, I don't think CJP should have ever let Robert Gillespie go. The man was a monster recruiter and our running backs were top notch.
In hind sight, who did he recruit that’s really any good? Which players that are on the roster right now that would start for Bama, uga, or any of the top sec schools?

Agreed, but if Pruitt is sucessful, Bama may come calling, and if he bolts for home, we have Tee ready to take over as HC.... (all speculation of course).

VN is very polarized on Tee.

I'm excited for this hire. I didn't want him as an OC because I felt like he didn't have enough consistency but he should be an asset for the offense. He's a great recruiter. But most of all he is a Vol great (blue blood aka orange blood) that brings winning back to Knoxville. I'm glad to see a shift in mentality on the coaching staff and administration. I believe UT has all the pieces to be successful...lets see if they can capitalize.
