Are you always miserable and angry? Do you have anything positive to contribute or just negative? Be Happy!!He talked sh!t about our recruit because USC lost out on them. The fact you can try to justify it just shows what a hypocritical agenda you have. It truly is amazing.
I guess you are one of those people who don’t think trees that fall didn’t really fall in a forest if no one was around to see it.
JMS, I don't think it's pity as much as hiring him at a level he is qualified for. Would love to see him at WR or even WR/QB and teach some timing. You make it sound like folks have a huge grudge with Tee. I’m sure the Peyton Posse does.
My only issue with Tee is he spurned us twice when he was at his “hottest” candidacy for jobs. We are now hiring him after washing out at USC and his offers were pretty weak. Feels like a pity hire by us. Outside of him spurning us and trashing our recruits on national TV, I have no issue. Just an odd timing and hire.
He is a champion and together with other team leaders in 1998 drove us to success. I am hoping he can rekindle that winning mentality when he walks back into Neyland with the welcome he will get.Fulmer and Pruitt surrounding the program with champions (real ones v. "champions of life") and installing a winning mentality. Things are looking up.
This sounds totally made up.My friend called me and woke me up this morning, about Tee coming home, and an interesting story going down.
Sometime Monday Fulmer and Pruitt had a meeting in the AD office. According to the story, Fulmer says, how about Tee coming to Knoxville? Pruitt tells Fulmer that he didn’t know if he would come or not, because of all of the backlash, but I’ve always wanted him here in my staff. Fulmer had told Pruitt that pffftt, I can get Tee to do whatever I ask him to do, and it isn’t going to be a problem getting him here. He goes on and says that, all of the guys I recruited looks at me like a father figure, and they are my sons that I took under my wing. So Pruitt says call him and see. Fulmer calls him and ask, and according to sources, their wasn’t any backlash from Tee to come home. It was absolutely, I’ll be there. Fulmer told him that the contract situation would be worked out, and you have no worries. Fulmer told him welcome home and let’s get to work, and Tee accepted and said yes sir, on my way.
That is the story that developed Monday of what I was told this morning.
Now, all of this negativity out here is absolutely uncalled for. Tee is still a VFL, and certainly deserves some kind of welcoming back to Knoxville. Whatever it was in the past is buried under the hatchet.
Let’s open our hearts and arms with some
WELCOME HOME TEE!
We will see how great of a recruiter he is. Recruiting for USC is a lot different from recruiting for Tennessee, Kentucky, or Vanderbilt.
Or at least be quietWhen has character ever been talked about regarding my posts? I have never said once the C word.
Also you ignored my point. Bama chasing Pruitt means Pruitt is winning.
Tennessee hiring Tee this offseason is solely on Tee’s other job offers not beating Tennessee’s in attractiveness and likely a little to be closer to his kid right across the border.
Those situations are zero alike.
I don’t have a problem with the hire if it’s a WR coaching spot.
But I also don’t have be full blown hypocrite like the people I’ve seen this AM praising the hire when they viciously attacked the guy last year when it was rumored Fulmer would talk shop with him about the HC job and even an OC job. Amazing how quickly the tune has changed on some folks. Especially considering they are cheering we hired him after being fired as opposed to hiring him coming off the Darnold years.
Atleast be consistent.
USC sells itself add in an elite QB or two and WR line up.
I don’t doubt the man can sell ice to an igloo but let’s see how he does with less resources before calling him recruiter of the year

Let things play out. We were panicking over an OC hire and Pruitt was recruiting. By the time we know the solution, our coach is working on another move. We’re not going to catch up.I am indifferent to Tee coming home, I mean he is not a great playcaller (based off of what he did at USC) but things could change new scenery new players different results?? maybe?
But what in the wide world of sports is he going to coach??? Are they going to create a postion for him and pay him 400,000 a year to be a "passing game cordinator" or "offensive specialist to the OC assistant"???
I just don't get where he fits in with this offense?? Someone please tell me. I would like someone with some knowledge to reply and see if anyone has any insight as to where he would coach? I have no idea and havent coached a day in my life so that is why I am asking.
