Tee coming home...

I am happy with the news. My only concern with Tee was his poor showing as an OC. He has a very good resume as a position coach. It will be interesting to see what role he does play. Remember, CJP tends to follow the Nick Saban philosophy of using a large number of "off the field" type staff members.

forgot about that... well i'm for second chances. Plus, Tee was kind of right about Hurts, he was soft in the end... didn't want to take the punishment at RB. Ended up quitting the team.

I like that Tee is likely humbled by the last couple years of his professional plateauing. Kind of a win win for us... he's back... not as HC or even an OC... we should be like Esau and accept Jacob back with open arms.

Hurd was a Botch recruit and probably was pampered by Botch, but because someone left while Botch was here is not a reason to dog them. It seems like there was a lot of stuff that went on behind the scenes during his time here that we are not aware of as fans. If we base a players ability of how Botch played them at UT then Kamara is no good and would be a scout team player for the Saints. Tee had no reason to run Hurd down. Time will tell how good or tough he is if he makes it to the league as a TE.

To be honest even after they took the playcalling away from Tee that USC offense still sucked and the defense couldn't stop people either.

This is a huge hire! Tee Martin could easily be a OC but now we get him and he can work with QBs or WRs and bring in elite talent. Tee could easily move over to OC when Chaney retires. Weinke could leave I guess he hasn’t brought in any recruits that I know of.
I would love you o see Chaney groom Tee into a better OC. Lets do this Vols. GBO fired up

I see what you mean. Chaney is around 57 or so. I could see Tee coming in and learning under Chaney and being like a oc in waiting type. Great recruiter great wr coach, not so good at oc but has time to learn.

He had nothing to do with the defense. Tee's resume as a position coach is much better than OC/co-OC or whatever that dynamic was. Some people are better as a position coach that the "boss" of one side of the line or the other.

I believe have hit the nail on the head. I believe Chaney can imbue his wisdom and maybe Tee could get some on the job training regardless of what actual position he has on the staff.

What’s there to be wrong about anything I have said today. Everything I’ve said today has been factually true. I know you have a problem with facts when they don’t fit your agenda.

If not 'wrong', maybe you let some petty things under your skin. If - if - Martin was the voice on the recording saying Hurd was soft and terrible, big deal. If he wore USC gear to Knoxville while working for USC, big deal. And so what that he thought it in the best interest of he/family to not accept the two prior offers?

The guy waited his turn and did his part winning TN a NC.
Put those things on a scale.
Now move on.

True, but Swain still doesn't have a clue. I think some of it was pointed towards him. He wants to be connected so bad but isn't. Hopefully this hire might bring a surprise or 2 in recruiting.
Former players talk to each other. Former players are on staff. I don’t sense that all about Swain.

Cool. Hopefully he can light it up on the recruiting trail, and contribute in whatever official capacity (position coach?) he's filling. It can't hurt to have a guy who won a NC recruiting for the school where he played.

That’s fair. But showing up is USC gear and trashing Hurd for signing with Tennessee on National TV is pretty weak and petty. Both of those are more public than whatever the offer was by Butch
You ever hear your wife or girlfriend saying anything negative about you when she thought you weren't around? If not I can still pretty much guarantee you she has anyway.

I think it is childish, stupid, and selfish to not give our utmost sincere gratitude to the man that guided us to our last championship in football. Not life... Tee is an excellent WR coach and an incredible recruiter. Enough with the bs negative comments. Welcome home Tee. Us older fans appreciate the man. Any past statements or whatever the tension is over. He's home. Let's give the man a chance before regurgitating opinions that matter 0%... Be constructive and optimistic until given a reason to not be. That is all...

I think people primarily object to past comments he’s made, and possibly feeling as though he used UT interviews as ways to get raises. I might be wrong though. . .
