Tee coming home...

He talked sh!t about our recruit because USC lost out on them. The fact you can try to justify it just shows what a hypocritical agenda you have. It truly is amazing.

I guess you are one of those people who don’t think trees that fall didn’t really fall in a forest if no one was around to see it.
This is a really poor take on what actually happened and what you are trying to force in your narrative lol

Bad idea imo.

I say this because people think it's 1998 all over again - it's not.

It appears to be common knowledge Tee thinks he should get as much love as Manning. That in itself ain't so bad unless it has contributed to some bitterness.

Tee thought he was owed head coaching job opportunity.

Tee thought he was owed the offensive coordinator job. He was just fired at USC because he wasn't getting it done.

I am not sure he was in on any highly ranked players that was considering the Vols.

Own son didn't even appear to consider the Vols. For what it's worth I can't blame him for not playing for Butch but to not look interested.

If this was Pruitt's decision then fine but hopefully there wasn't pressure. Will Tee expect to be OC or HC in waiting down the line? Will it create problems if he underperforms?

I am indifferent to Tee coming home, I mean he is not a great playcaller (based off of what he did at USC) but things could change new scenery new players different results?? maybe?

But what in the wide world of sports is he going to coach??? Are they going to create a postion for him and pay him 400,000 a year to be a "passing game cordinator" or "offensive specialist to the OC assistant"???

I just don't get where he fits in with this offense?? Someone please tell me. I would like someone with some knowledge to reply and see if anyone has any insight as to where he would coach? I have no idea and havent coached a day in my life so that is why I am asking.

Nice input.

The recruit situation to me is not about it being our recruit. It's about trashing any high school athlete over being butt hurt. It was an unfortunate situation that lacked maturity but hopefully he has learned from that.
You don’t think just about any and every recruiter in the country says some negative things behind closed doors about a recruit? Y’all acting like he called a special press conference to announce that Jalen Hurd is terrible and soft lol

Hiring him means a someone will be moved aka let go most likely.

Says the guy who’s denying what was spoken on clear audio.

Were his comments inappropriate and insulting, yes. Was Tee wrong about Hurd? No.
Tee's comment about Hurd being soft and terrible is something that most Volfans would now agree with. It is not something he intended to have public dissemination. ESPN was being intrusive. If anything to me, it was a clear indication that he still cared about our program even though he was working for USC.

Trashed? Seriously? He said he was terrible and soft......behind closed doors and not as a public comment. Wouldn’t call that “trashing” but that’s just my opinion.
So USC didn’t know there cameras in their room? You think ESPN snuck in and set those up without them knowing? Amazing logic there. Because if you seriously believe it was behind closed doors, you automatically believe they had no idea there were cameras in the room.

Brilliant take, Bud!

Yes I do believe that, but somehow most of them manage to stay a private conversation. It's the same idea with the coaching searches, most coaches announce they are staying put and dont feel the need to publicly turn down a specific job, Tee did. As I said I wish we could keep our staff together, but if we can't I think he is a great replacement. I hope he has learned from his mistakes though.

I honestly don’t see how this is a good fit unless we are losing or canning our WR coach. Good for recruiting but outside of that, not sure what the big deal is about this hire outside of an “alum coming home” narrative.

I guess we needed some UT folks on the staff considering the Bama blood we have in Pruitt? Lmao

Just amazing that people are super stoked about an alum who spurned us twice publicly and trashed our recruits on national signing day on national TV......

The beauty of that is the fact that OTHERS WANTED HIM and he didn't have to come here, and had the the opportunity to spurn us. He's been successful, so we're not just stirring the orange pot and bringing home an alum who can't produce.

Not once did I talk about the low offer.

If he knew he was getting lowballed and still showed up, that’s dumb. So since he showed up, he didn’t know the details of the lowball. Since he didn’t know that, showing up in USC gear for a job interview is wildly stupid. Especially towards his Alma mater.

Secondly, he trashed a recruit on national signing day for signing with his Alma Mater. It truly is amazing to see the folks who have flipped their script today compared to back then who spoke against him venomously.

Lastly, what offers did he have after his firing that Tennessee had to beat out for his services. Tee signed with the best school available that was offering him.

All of those things are true. I think if hired to be WR coach, he will do a solid job.

I think the funny thing I’m amazed at is all the people who get butthurt the minute anything perceived as criticism happens. It’s also funny the majority of those people are the same ones who bashed the guy countless times. I really can’t believe this site is free because it’s entertainment is second to none.

Tee literally just chose us over an offer from Alabama. He said Hurd was “soft” and Hurd was soft at times. Tee probably kept showing up for interviews because he wanted to be here but the hand he was being dealt just didn’t line up.

You a bit sensitive to all this scooter, I will leave you be so you can try and find some healing in all of this.

Here is another development going on of some good news yesterday and this morning.
Yesterday I posted a rumor that a big time boom grad transfer is coming in between now and the 1st of March.
If you aren’t paying attention to our 2019 recruits tweeting that we aren’t finished yet with a smiley 😊 face, then you ought to pay attention. Now the other story that has just broken this morning is that we could see another big time grad boom transfer coming in by March, and this is just a rumor. Between the recruits, rumors, and all of the talk, buckle down, because 2019 isn’t done yet. If you’re a Tennessee fan, then you better pay attention, and don’t take it from me, because I believe we aren’t done yet.

Care to link, source, or prove Tee was getting an offer from Saban?
