Just noticed that he was working the UNC/Clemson game last night. I'm assuming that the SEC doesn't have a set of officials that exclusively work SEC games? I didn't realize these guys could float from one confernce game (UT/FL) to a another confernce game (UNC/Clem). I could see having them work in interconferce games or non-SEC games in tournaments, but didn't realize a guy like Valentine was able to cause chaos throught the nation (outside of the Big Ten, of course).

and believe me, he caused plenty of chaos. I thought the Dean Dome was about to riot at one point.

I didn't see the game, but did notice UNC had a 2:1 foul ratio on Clemson... not that Clemson would have hit their free throws anyways.

oh yeah, Clemson sucked from the line. The foul disparity had a lot to do with the fact that Clemson wasn't really playing much of an inside game offensively. There was a charge call on UNC early on in the second half that was terrible, but I can't remember who was involved. It is really amazing how loud 23,000 people booing at the top of their lungs can be.

He's gonna get punched in the face one of these days....
With all of the talk about Trooper chest bumping and what not, I have to say that I was disgusted to see Valentine yucking it up and high fiving Pearl and a few others before the Florida game last week.

Bet there weren't very many high fives or yucks after the game.

don't understand why, UNC had something like 34 free throws to clemsons 7. I know clemson is more of a 3 pt shooting team and not very big down low, but you can't tell me that home court advantage didn't had something to do with this.

A coach has to be smart enough to play the friendly game with referees, as he is likely to see them again. It would be dumb on Pearl's part to be rude or dismissive.

You're missing the point I think. The referee shouldn't be yucking it up and carrying on like that. Esp. a ref with Valentine's reputation. I was not criticizing Pearl for not leaving Valentine hanging if Valentine was extending his hand waiting for a high five...

Although, it would have been comical to see Valentine standing there with his hand out and Pearl just walking away... :p

Yeah, if I were Coach I would pleasantly tell him before the game "could you please hold the dummass and obviously biased calls to a minimum tonight? Thanks.."

UCONN had a 42-10 advantage over GT this sat. as well..didn't surprise me at all since UCONN pounds the post like UNC does and GT bombs from the 3 pt line like CU does.

Did anybody notice him fly to the scorers table after he called a block late in the first half? My parents had it recorded. He called a block and basically done the airplane to the scorers table. Classic teddy v

Nobody can take over a game like ted these days. He's the most dominant ref in the business.:p I can't believe he actually gets paid money to screw up games.

Officials work the SEC and ACC. They switch through the schedules of both conferences to that the crews do not repeat the same sights to frequently. As far as Mr. Violenitine. When **** freezes over would be too soon to see him again. He grades out low on most games he calls from what I hear.

I don't understand how he can get fired (doesn't seem to happen very often) from a major basketball conference and then get picked up for big-time ACC and SEC games? Shouldn't he just be banned from everywhere? Or shouldn't the SEC have enough brains to avoid that problem? Just seems very odd to me.
