Hey i have alot of friends in the Columbus area they are not that bad. Besides i married a buckeye she aint that bad neither. She still has alot of family up there.
Not quite sure why this response was made? I have nothing against people from Ohio, Ohio is a very nice place to live. I made a false assumption that it would be understood I was talking about fans.
My wife was born and raised in Barberton, Ohio. I am from Lexington, Kentucky and we chose Columbus as a general half way point from our families.
I worked at Ohio State for three years in the public safety department. I got to dress up in suits with ear pieces and play secret service for the football team while they stayed on campus at the Blackwell Inn the day before and on game days.
This also meant I was at every home game and saw how pathetic fans can get. That is how I formulated my opinion that Ohio State has some of the worse fans in the country. It is only logically that out of 100,000 people some are going to be bad.
I define badly as not cursing at people but being malicious by physical harm, i.e. Wisconsin and throwing batteries. It is not fun to have batteries thrown at you.
Jim Tressel is one of the finest human beings you would ever want to be around. My wife and her family got to meet him a couple of years ago along with A.J. Hawk and Bobby Carpenter. Talk about grown adults being in a candy store. It completely blew them away when he knew where Barberton, Ohio was and that Barberton was famous for their chicken houses.
In fact my last game at Ohio State, before I went off for the Ohio Highway Patrol, he took me aside and wished me good fortune in the future and he wanted me to come back and work the games. I was blown away!
Again I am not quite sure about your response. It was meant to be light hearted and humorous. I am not around a majority of Tennessee fans and Ohio State fans can gloat about winning a BCS game over Notre Dame and all I have is a 5-6 season.
Perhaps I should explain myself further so there is no misunderstanding?
Have a good day!
