Tebow > Fulmer/Crompton

Sorry for hatred against us. Not everyone is like those you came in contact with. I, for one, am rational and completely understand your hatred. However, i came to Neyland this year and the fans were nice, partly b/c I didn't run my mouth, laugh or anything because what comes around, goes around. I'm not saying you ran your mouth either. College football is cyclical and whenever UT gets going again, it will be hard to stop them. Right now, it seems to be our time, at least I hope it is, but this is the SEC and anyone can beat anyone apparently.

You're a Gator fan. You aren't supposed to post something like that. It makes me....LIKE you.

I'm not going to read 11 pages of this thread, so if what I am going to say has already been said, my apologies.

It's easy to be humble when everyone is kissing your butt all the time. When you've been beat down as much as this coaching staff and this team has been in the last few years, words like Tebow's would have been met here with a roll of the eyes. Lok at his quote. He's going to work as hard as he can. It is essentially the same thing as Fulmer's famous "work like heck" line.

And I'm pretty sure that our players and coaches have said some thing like that before. Again, I'm not going to go and research this right now because it's 6 a.m. and I've got to get to work, but Fulmer took responsibility a few weeks ago. The players have taken responsibility before. Just look and you'll probably find it.

''I'm sorry. I'm extremely sorry,'' he said. ''We were hoping for an undefeated season. That was my goal, something Florida's never done here. But I promise you one thing: a lot of good will come out of this.

''You have never seen any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of this season and you'll never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of this season, and you'll never see a team play harder than we will the rest of this season.''

In other words, "I am great, therefore my will must be imposed. The world must NEVER think Tim Tebow deserved to get beat."

He uses those words after a loss...... taking it upon himself and not throwing others under the bus! You might have a point if he was taking all the credit after a win.

Almost any other qb in the country could say that and we'd admire him. It's the gator jersey folks. I for one am too old to hate a 21-22 yr old..but that's just my preference.

1. Real UT fans never ADMIT to being impressed by anyone from FL, LSU, GA, or the likes....

2. Yes, we realize Crompton's AND Fulmer's shortcomings...

3. At least Crompton hasn't cried yet....

Edited to notate (since some are dense enough not to catch this) that I'm mostly kidding here. I am serious about not giving FL any respect under Myers' watch, though. I've had enough interactions with FL fans, too, that has shaped my absolute hatred of the whole program.

I think our record against Meyer will eliminate any need to show respect. He doesn't care if we respect him or not. He owns Fulmer!!
