it will likely be a $75 ticket so one of those ACC teams would be nice. the rest aren't worth $75 dollars

Some facts for you VolNation.
1) UT is not going to win a National Championship in 2015
2) Out of Conference games make us BETTER in Conference
3) If you have to worry about getting that 6th win with OOC, you should grow up

I would argue that we should play the toughest OOC schedule in the nation every year, but ESPECIALLY in 2015, difference between a 9-3 and 8-4 teams? Negligible at worst, but if playing Miami prepares us to face USC/Georgia/Bama, then I'm all about it.

GIVE ME MIAMI. PLEASE..

Really? How did OU make us better in conference. All I saw was an overmatched O Line get its QB destroyed and lead to him eventually losing the season. We already have 3 teams scheduled next year who will be top 10-15. If people are worried that we can't get better playing that schedule, then THEY should grow up.

Sure sounds like you want to duck a team.

I know we have a tough schedule, but being a puss about who we schedule is not the answer.

During the 90's FLA opened with the following:

Oklahoma St./Bama
San Jose St./Bama
UK/UT
Ark. St./UK
New Mexico St./UK
Houston/UK
La. Lafayette/Georgia Southern
So. Miss/Central Mich.
Citadel/La. Monroe
Western Michigan/Central Mich.

While we were being tough-guys bashing with the likes of UCLA, Syracuse and Georgia year after year and losing to FLA 7/3 on that matchup, they were coasting to the third game for most of the decade. Remember now, this was when both our programs were pretty close to the best in the country for the whole decade and who won our matchup determined who played for championships and who got to deal with teams like Nebraska for two post seasons.

I remember quite clearly hating Spurrier for those cake openers while we had to brawl through 3 openers year after year, getting our guys injured in non-conference games while his guys stayed fresher. In my book, two cake openers and a cake homecoming game is perfectly acceptable football in this league. Now I'm new to posting here and I don't want to start a fight, just stating my opinion in a respectful way.

I want my guys healthy for the conference and I don't want to be forced to show my playbook until then either.

I'd pick Air Force, but since they don't need the money lets go for Miami an ACC team

I don't want any part of a service Academy team. You get guys hurt when you play an Army, Navy or Air Force squad because they cut block. Our defensive line will be outstanding next year, no need to start the season with Barnett or another guy hurt because they get chop blocked repeatedly.

I don't want any part of ECU either, they are very capable of putting up a lot points. I say Rice or San Diego St., even though SDSU should've beaten UNC this year.

Who would you prefer on this list? All of these teams need an opponent for 2015 and have an open date on 09/05

None of the above, a nice curb stomping of oregon in Neyland would be sweet revenge.

Thought TOS had an article today where hart said he was in discussions with UAB's conference to provide a replacement (even if that meant reshuffling CUSA's schedule so some team with a game that week currently can move that game to a later date to play us).

If thats the case i could see MTSU or Marshall out of CUSA

If we want a tough game East Carolina would give us hell.

Theres a difference between backing down from a challenge and scheduling strategically when you already play a tough schedule. Its not like we're ducking anybody.

Thank you. Well said..
Some people have obviously never coached. I do and if you play in a gutrench district you better schedule 2 or 3 weaklings to get wins and reps for guys. They all do it even bama plays western Carolina.

I guess some of you guys want us to schedule
Ohio st, Oregon , Michigan st every year

For anyone scared to play a Miami or ECU, I say it's time to see what we're made of. Forget trying to "win our first game", bust the a$$ of anyone who thinks they can hang with us. I hate that some of our fans have an inferiority complex ... We're the team to beat! As CBJ once said ... "Come get you some!"
