When tourney time gets here, which teams that we might see in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, do you think we match up with the worst, or that you would be most scared to play?
I would say Kansas St. just because Beasley can go off at any moment.

We should easily handle KSU. Beasley and Walker might be tough matchups, but their guard play is lacking.

i think Texas is a scary team. They already beat us once this year, and they just beat Kansas the other night. Every team has let-downs throughout the season, and I think their record is more of a reflection of that rather than them just being mediocre. I don't want to play them again.

i think ut would run all over gtown...they've shown in their losses they cant go up and down the court in a fast paced game..against memphis, louisville, and syracuse....

the three teams i find the scariest for us in the tourny would be Kansas and UCLA as topnotch opponents...an for an early team id hate to see(such as if were a #1 playin an 8-9 in round 2) would be a team like Syracuse...not a great reg season record but able to pull out big games and play scrappy....just my opinion

The Louisville game not a fast paced game. Syracuse, either, really. Hell, none of the 3 were even over 70 possessions.

Stanford-The Lopez Bros will kill us inside
Xavier again-They know they CAN beat us...scrappy team
'Consin-Slow down play, bigs...
Louisville-On fire right now, Petino is a tourney coach
UCONN-Thabeet and Co. also on fire

Besides the obv, those are some of the teams i would prefer not to see

yea but im sayin gtown isnt able to run up and down the court...they win by slowin teams down...they've only allowed 70 pts to two teams this yr..memphis and syracuse...i looked at the bracektology earlier and i think we would b in the toughest of all brackets but who knows if it would hold up....

yea phoenix does look tough its 1/2 matchup would be better than some final four games...out of all of those teams in the bracket who do u see posing as the biggest threat to ut first?

if those were the official brackets, i would hate to be a 1 seed in the second round...all of those 8-9 teams would be fierce opponents....

Well, both Oklahoma and Arizona are matchups I hate. Granted, we should be able to beat both.

Oklahoma plays a slow tempo, ranks in the top 20% of not turning the ball over on offense, they don't allow many offensive boards, and they are one of the top 25 biggest teams. We'd win, but the matchup isn't optimal. They don't cause many turnovers. They allow a lot of 3 point attempts.

If we played Drake in the Sweet 16, we'd win pretty easily IMO. Drake allows a lot of 3s, and they go in a lot. They allow offensive boards too much. However, they don't turn the ball over, and play one of the slowest paces around. Still, confident with this matchup because they're small as well.

Wisconsin would suck as a matchup, too. I think we'd win, but the Badgers have one of the best defensive teams in the country. Their pace is slow, their turnover rate is better than average but not great. They don't CAUSE that many turnovers, which shows how awesome their half court D is. They guard the 3point shots pretty well. On offense, they hit the offensive boards very well, and they don't rely on 3 pointers, which sucks for us. They are the 24th biggest team in the country. Our biggest advantage is that they aren't that deep, and while big, two of their 3 biggest guys (Stiemsa 6'11" and Leuer 6'10") average only 10 minutes a game. So 2/3s of their big guys are on the bench most of the game.

Arizona also plays a slower tempo, the Wildcats rank in the top 15% of not turning it over, they shoot well from every area, they don't let teams get to the FT line, and they guard the triple very well. However, size wouldn't be an issue and they don't cause many turnovers on defense. Another game we'd win, but the matchup isn't great.

You really think so, Hat? I'll take your opinion on it anyday but I figured this would be one of the last teams we'd want to see in that bracket..

yea i think any one of the three...oklahoma, arizona, and wisconsin would be difficult..although i think tennessee has the advantage of those teams not being familiar with us so hopefully we would b able to press and force some turnovers...i think wisconsin would be the toughest not only b/c of their bigs, but i think pearl was an assistant under the wisconsin coach before he uwm to go to the badgers

with arizona...after watchin them play standford yesterday it was obv if you can stop bayless & buddinger then uve pretty much stopped their whole team

if i could pick a bracket i would want duke's...im certain ut would have a fairly good chance of goin to the final four with that bracket
