I’m sorry, I stole this from Wilks - a Lady Vol Basketball site poster, but it is hilarious,

”Candace Parker curse stays intact... Uconn hasn't won a National Championship since geno snubbed her from The Olympic Team they're cursed.”

I know, I know, @T_Vol376, I’m being mean....but it IS funny. @gule made me do it!

:( everyone this last week with tournaments cancelled, financial markets going to hell we all need to do some soul searching ( including me). We're in uncharted waters and this could get ugly real quick. We need to seek the Lord for guidance for our family's and ourselves.
I am like everyone else, I don't know where this is going. I believe it is a lot worse than we are being told.

[/OK people… Here is some real talk on the coronavirus from a nurse who is working in urgent care in Washington state. This mass hysteria has got to stop! The media needs to stop perpetuating this. Politicians need to stop using this to trash talk each other and try to convince the public that no one but that specific politician cares about them. I am not afraid of getting the coronavirus. In the majority of people who have no pre-existing health conditions the coronavirus would give us cold symptoms. Without the media portrayal and perpetuation of this, most of us would probably not even know that we had it. Yes, people have died from it which is a tragedy. But people die from the flu every year. Thousands of people! It’s spreads across the earth rapidly. And yet there’s no hysteria. There’s no panic. And there are people who choose to not get the flu shot, in spite of knowing that it can make you very ill for two weeks and that people, that children, are dying from it. What is scaring me about the coronavirus is the mass hysteria. Our wait times at urgent care are around three hours or more. People with no exposure are screaming at our receptionists “how do I know I just have a cold and am not dying of coronavirus!? I shouldn’t be waiting this long!” I have a friend who works in pediatrics who told me that she had a mother tell her she could not get Tylenol or Motrin for her child who has a fever because there was none available. People are stealing our facemasks by the handful. People are coming in with common cold symptoms, overloading the healthcare system, creating massive wait times, and delaying care for those who really need to be treated. Yes, this specific strain of coronavirus is new, and new can be scary. But stop panicking about a virus that causes mild to moderate cold symptoms in the majority of people. Stay home when you are sick. Wash you hands often. Get your flu shot (the flu scares me more than the coronavirus). Take your vitamins. Buy normal amounts of toilet paper, groceries, and medicines. Stop driving up the costs of common products due to unnecessary panic! And please... STOP STEALING OUR FACE MASKS! Healthcare professionals need those so we don’t get the flu!![/QUOTE]

A quick google search reveals that you just did a cut and paste from a Facebook message that is floating around. Did you take one second to verify anything said by this supposed nurse?

But, yes panic buying and stealing medical supplies is dumb.

But even dumber is perpetuating the Rush Limbaugh idiocy that corona is just a cold. The WHO, the CDC, and every major health organization is warning that this virus is far more virulent and far more deadly than flu for at risks grooms. It is a new virus strain for which their is very little herd immunity among us so it can spread very, very rapidly. It attacks the lungs in a very distinctive way from the flu.

Please stop spreading misinformation.
No, Coronavirus Isn't 'Just Like The Flu'. Here Are The Very Important Differences

We have test cases in China, Italy and Iraq to see how rapidly this virus can get out of hand (and fortunately that it can be contained through coordinated public health actions:

I would suggest you follow the CDC recommendations and take them seriously....that is how you and your family will be safe...or safer.

Why are they even blaming him. He can touch all he can buy he never knew that he had it or can be bad like that. I hate how they're acting as if he invited it to himself.

He was acting childish and trying to be funny. Since that moment, he and a teammate have tested positive and now suddenly it doesn't look so funny. In fact, what he did was potentially very dangerous. That was the reason for his contrite message, which mtv conveniently left out...

Conveniently left out? What you are implying? His actions were broadcast all over television so it was common knowledge. He was making fun of the prevention policies that the NBA had put in place and issued this apology for spreading the virus (albeit inadvertently). What is with the "naive" charge?

I get that you believe, being much more knowledgeable on such matters than the WHO, that covid-19 is no big deal (so did Gorbert by the way) but this post takes your contrarianism to a weird place, even for you.

For the Thousandth time; This isn't the FLU! It is 10x more contagious and 10x more deadly!

According to Manisha Juthani, MD, a Yale Medicine infectious disease specialist. “Based on symptoms alone, COVID-19 and flu are very difficult to distinguish.” Saying COVID-19 is ten times more contagious and deadly is an hysterical exaggeration. The sky is not falling. The end of the world is not nigh. We are not all gonna die.
