Team Rallying Around Incident?

It was true for me in July 98. Still serving him. "But God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us."

Now on a lighter note... Pete: But he said we was absolved..... U.E. McGill: Well you may be free and clear in the eyes of the Lord.. But.. The state of Tennessee is a little more hard nosed. :p

I can't believe people buy this crap...

I am not what you would call religious myself, but I do believe that Chris Walker is a very sincere and spiritual young man and I commend him for his beliefs. It will take leadership from players like him and Hardesty to rally this team together.

tabrams = an ass for speculating on these young man's religions. Have you ever conversed with Chris Walker? Do you not believe that our football team has faithful Christians?

Many times people's lives are changed because they get into a situation that puts their life into a new perspective.

I was making a joke, had nothing to do with Walker, or anybody on the team except the guys in trouble..... people often become more religious when it's convenient for them.......I'm pretty sure that if Nuke, Edwards, and Jackson were taking religion seriously, then they wouldn't be in this rediculous situation.......

As for you calling me an azz for not having a sense of humor, all I can say to you is this:

:shaking2: :shaking2: :shaking2:

That's one from each one of these Knuckleheads :eek:lol:

We all see they weren't the one's quoted with the religious statements.

I apologize for responding to your joke. Didn't know it was a joke as I did not find it humorous.

I know, I was just trying to make a joke......I'm fuming mad at those 2 clowns!! and at Janzen for hanging out with them.......:realmad:

The problem is that it's not a laughing matter. These are lives and futures we are discussing. Yes, they messed up but for some, things like this is what they need for the closer walk with God. He'll never put more on you that you can't handle and all he asks is for you to turn to him for help.

u just didn't understand my joke, and who it was directed at.......2 things people don't like to discuss, religion and politics.......trust me, if I could go back to yesterday in a time machine, and hand them some bibles, I would be the first there, if I thought it could have changed their actions......:banghead2:

when you're facing a sentencing or trying to get back in good graces, you need to show genuine remorse and desire to change. a recent religious conversion is a great thing to have on your resume.

Strange coincidence that people suddenly find God when they have committed a crime or are on their death bed. I guess that's what it takes these days.

Wow! Sounds awesome to me! I hope they turn their lives to Jesus and then turn the team, campus, city, state, country, and world upside down for the cause of Christ.

Funny how people just become more religious when they're azzes are mud :eek:lol:

Dude what you said her is basically true.(It was for me) I think what some of the other posters and myself are saying is that sometimes people really do find redemption after hitting bottom. There is then a paradigm shift in the way we live our lives.

My boy Pete is religious too, hopefully this is a wake up call for him! Nukeese needs to learn from this and progress when he is back on the team next year..

GO VOLS

Congrats and good for you...I think the poster was saying that it happens in almost every case

the three who are in trouble had nothing to do with making these "religious remarks" public. They aren't trying to get back in good graces, just trying to turn their lives around... Sometimes it takes something big to get people back on track

My prayers are with these young men, the team, coaches, and their families. They're on the right track and if this changes their lives and the team is brought closer to God and one anotherthen it's just a matter of time. 1 Peter 5:6

God cares about how you finish, NOT how you start..
Abraham is the best example of this in the Bible

For you that have been in court for anything besides a speeding ticket then you say what you want. but for the rest of you "know it all's" think for a second....imagine that no decision is in your hands...the rest of your life hangs on what other people think of you....I'm not calling you idiots or anything I'm serious because I've been through it. Yes they made a mistake. They are "stupid". But no matter what if they came to the Lord it is a good thing. I'm not fighting for politics, religion...or her...but don't let your anger for somebody making a stupid mistake that effects what you watch on Saturday get in the way of what these men will experience for the rest of their lives.

Oftentimes, that is EXACTLY what it takes to wake some people up. Being a hard head after something like this, and refusing to change...is a more alarming response, IMHO.

There is an African American man who is the spiritual leader for this team . I don't recall his name but he has a shaved head and you have probably seen him kneeling with the team in prayer after the games . He was at Faith Promise church last week and talked about some amazing things going on with this team . Jesus is spreading through this team like wildfire . Their are miracles going on there ..You people on here that are beleivers know what I'm talking about !!!!!!

good post TENN. very true. it is simply human nature to surrender, only, when you are truly defeated. if these young men surrendered to God, then congratulations to them.
